That's 13 out of 15, right? Impressive. Tippett for AHL coach of the year.

Ray Edwards, XX, the same coach the Coyotes hired in SA.

Pretty sure he was making the joke that the team's turned around since Tippett made his trip up there a few weeks ago.

6-1 THRASHING by Connecticut ending 8 gm home win streak (could've set franchise record for consecutive home wins;

Brodeur, (3), from Sinkewich/Conner, on a fluke shot, that eluded Cam Talbot....

honestly, the reality of the NHL call ups/Season, and third game in 4 days, have worn this team down.

Pirates’ home winning streak snapped

PORTLAND – On a night when the Portland Pirates could’ve set a new record for consecutive home wins, they instead found themselves blown out by the Connecticut Whale, 6-1, in front of a crowd of 2,616 at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

Wow, bad game. Having half your defense and leading scorer called up doesn't help. Those good streaks always have to end nasty.

Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forwards Chris Brown, Chris Conner, Rob Klinkhammer, Brendan Shinnimin and Justin Szwarz as well as defensemen Brandon Gormley and Chris Summers from the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.
7 players called up for the scrimmage tonight. May have been a distraction that lead to the loss.

NOPE, if that was the case, XX, why after losing Bolduc, Stone, Rundblad, Miele, & OEL, (WHICH we all knew was happening despite OEL being banged up, were being told not to play him because of the lockout ending).... the efforts against BRI/Wor, MADE THAT look impressive, and playing 3 games in essentially 4 AND 1/2 days....

they acted like they were physically wore out... we play 3 in 3's and all teams struggle at least the middle of those games.... even Phoenix will on back to backs.

Just curious how Shinnimin has been? I live in Tri-Cities and hes a family friend. Also, I saw hes at the NHL training camp. Anybody know how hes played? Is he getting a shot at that 2c spot? (I know hes not ready for that, just curious)

He was invited as an extra body only. He has been playing better lately in Portland. Someone more familiar with the lines can comment, but he hasn't exactly had stellar linemates.

play has been impressive, from what I've seen of him, but then again, adjusting to being a pro player and prospect, is subjective for any rookie, or 1st year coach/player...

He scored a sweet little goal in the scrimmage tonight. Looked pretty good on a couple of other plays too.

This is a weird training camp, and I think they're just auditioning for injury callup time later.

fwiu, Summers, Szwarz, Miele, Gormley, and Shinnimin were reassigned after the scrimmage....

Conner, Klinkhammer, Chad Johnson, Nick Johnson, & Rechlicz were placed on 24 hr waivers, just as you'd see in a typical season, except it being now, rather than mid September, prior to the Pirates' Season.

Bolduc has seemed to make the Coyotes roster and he, and Rundblad might be replaced, if both remain in Glendale...

I imagine Bolduc is only here to keep Raffi's spot warm for eight games.

Rumor has it that Bolduc may indeed stay up past 1/28/13 (AHL All Star Classic @ PRO)

same as Shinnimin, Bills, you only notice if he does something, but the expectations and adjustments to the A, are relative.
