The first choice "We'll start winnin' when we get Mckinnon" had too many letters.

Well, I sure have and this sure is a new management, but this is the same franchise that hasn't won a cup in 20 years because of mistakes like this.

Way to miss MY point.

It is true the last Stanley cup is now 20 years ago. Imagine how you would feel if you were a Leafs fan!

Or a Nordiques fan that lost their cup when they moved to Colorado...

This is gonna be controversial, but hey, I'd rather them winning it than one of those ******* franchises from down south. At least lots of people would appreciate the win you know, even though I've never lived in a world where the Leafs have won the cup more recently than the Habs and I don't really insist on seeing that world.

Same here. There's no reason for the two greatest franchises to be bottom dwellers.

I don't like the Leafs very much and would hate them to beat the Habs in the playoffs but it would be nice if they actually had a competitive team. They have really dedicated fans, and the city would be a lot of fun if they actually made the playoffs.

They were playing old games on RDS, classic Nordiques vs Habs, I actually remember watching those with my grandfather in the Quebec. He hated the Habs, it was not even funny. Great rivalry, I agree. I also agree with your comments about teams from the south.

It's nothing new, Penguins and Predators have it as well I believe. I still like it. The culture of this organization has become far too soft over the past few years. Performance should dictate ice time, not draft status, salary or reputation. This just goes along the same lines.

I agree.

And with the Gomez business today, we see that the organisation take this seriously.

Now they have opportunities with this short camp to show how serious they are...

I mean, depending on how it goes, keeping or sending back Galchenyuk could be equally difficult. Then maybe **** happens and Bouillon finds himself the odd man out and he has to be cut. My previous post about management having to live up to No Excuses is pretty much this and what you said, as a fan and customer I want the best team on the ice, not the highest salaried or highest drafted or more experienced.

I wanted Gomez cut, and even though Molson will pay him millions to do nothing, even though he's a veteran, the best friend of our captain and a well appreciated guy in the room, well, he was making a pay that was disproportiate compared to his performance where it matters: on the ice. Anything else shouldn't matter and the management has started the No Excuses Era () the right way by making the most obvious and justified roster move they could make. I can agree with keeping a good room guy if he's a 4th liner and he costs me 1M, but not when he's a 4th liner and making seven times that.
