In my opinion i think Rangers needs a Michael Sauer type, we only have Marc Staal who are DEF def, MDZ and Stralman are offensive, McD and Girardi Allround, and i dont like with playing Bickel or Eminger in third pair
Adrian Aucoin would be very good. Derek Morris would be good. Someone like that. A veteran righty, bottom pairing, physical guy. Cory Sarich. If we wanted to invest more and pay a higher price, Kevin Klein. Something like that.
What do you guys have to offer? and what does Rangers have to give up to get it?
Pens have tons of 6th D. Don't know if inter division trading would be entertained though.
Lovejoy
Strait
Bortuzzo
Depres
Are probably all available and relatively young. Strait/Bortuzzo are your 2 defensive guys. Lovejoy more of a 2way (Probably the most NHL ready and proven). Depres more of a offensive guy (most upside). Pens need young wingers that are good at "something".

I like Morris actually, find hes game very simple, and that is what a D i want
Is he good enough? i have a feeling that a guy like Eminger can make hes job, but i dont know, havent watched Commodore at all
He's done well in the AHL this season. Would it translate to the NHL again ? Not sure, but since the Rangers aren't scared to cut down to 5, or even 4 dman throughout a game he could be well sheltered
Pretty sure we are done getting added D - at least until the deadline (pending injuries). We have 8 defenders at camp now.Might not be the best options at nr 6, but I think they will try to find some kind of rotation here.
OTOH, at the deadline we will most likely try to pickup a veteran, defensive Righthanded D that is a UFA.
Maybe a trade for one of Gilroy/Bickel/Eminger, a prospect and/or a pick.
We also might try to sign a D for The Whale off waiver wires or whatever is left after all camps are done. Most likely on an AHL deal.
Our evident need now is added depth on offense.
We only have 12 fwds at camp as Hrivik is injured and Haley is not there (for whatever reason).
Both one player on the Rangers and one in CT.
Pretty sure something will happen here though.

That's what we're trying to avoid. I know McDonagh and Staal looked like they were fine after that 3OT game playing like 50 minutes, but I don't want that situation to arise again.
We need someone who can take a regular shift, play 12-14 minutes a game and not look out of place. Not looking particularly for an offensive guy, more of a no-chances stay at home guy. Doesn't need to have a good outlet pass as they'd likely be playing with Del Zotto or Staal who can both do that. And it needs to be a righty or someone who can and has played on the right side.

Strait and Burtuzzo are awful. Despres is not available. Lovejoy is possible though
