You weren't most interested in hearing Ryan Miller try his hardest not to blame the owners for everything during his entire interview?

Woody: Who are you looking for from the Amerks to join the scrimmage?

I would expect 1 line of forwards and maybe a couple of D?

Porter, Adam, Tropp (injured?), McNabb, Pysk?

Shows the value of having Amerks being right down the Thruway!!

I haven't seen any indication of who it will be, but Ruff said he wants to scrimmage 3 lines vs 3 lines, so how many Amerks will depend on if Gerbe and McCormick are included or not -- as of now, they're not full participants in practice. Regardless, Sabres will need to add 3 or 5 forwards to meet those demands and I'd nominate Adam, Flynn, Mancari, Porter and Tarnasky. If they're bringing up any more defense, I'd assume Finley, McNabb and Pysyk are the favorites. However, Rochester could always opt to send their extra bodies, players like JGL, Parker, Schiestel, etc. I wouldn't expect to see Girgensons after the hit he took last night.

Not sure where to put this - can't remember what was the recent thread where we talked about the new players numbers -
but since it has a picture of Grigorenko at todays training camp practice, I'll post this info here.

Steve Ott wearing #9 - Adam Pardy wearing #27 and John Scott wearing #32 for the Buffalo Sabres is made official -
last name/number plates on their locker stalls - http://instagram.com/p/UbuPRRgXt4/

Mikhail Grigorenko will be wearing #25 - no picture of his last name/number plate but
we do have one of him wearing a helmet with #25 on it - https://twitter.com/BuffaloSabres/st...839617/photo/1

The more I look at Buffalo roster the more I like it, I think we are going to be very good this year.

Can we get a all purpose sabres thread stickied? Their are way to many threads right now.

I assume nobody will be in the chat tomorrow, seeing as it's just a practice?

What? This is the Sabres board, it's totally okay for there to be more than one thread on the sabres.

The depth looks like it could fill their philosophical objectives for having waves of scoring. It also provides some potential mismatches, gives them a heavy-lifting d-zone line in Gerbe-Hecht-Kaleta, and could allow them to shield Grigorenko with both a responsible defensive player in Ott and not having to leave them out there for key duty at either end of the ice.

Well the reason theres no picture of his last name/number plate is because hes the lone Sabre at training camp who has yet to been assigned a stall. He has just a chair with a table behind it in which he can lay his gloves/helmet on. Nice picture of him, the chair and table on the front page of todays sports section in the Buffalo News. http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs...130119590/1004

I might be going to this, bringing the little one to his first hockey experience.

If it's practice + scrimmage then I would assume the scrimmage starts a little later, maybe around 6? That would be nice since I probably won't be able to get there right at 5:30.

I'm probably going to head down as well. Have an open night tonight, might as well go relax and watch a little bit.

Just a heads up, it sounds like a 5:30PM puck drop for the scrimmage. Idk if the practice/drills are this AM or pre-/post-scrimmage.

The email from the Sabres said that gates open at 4:30. Could be closed practice prior to that I guess.

I was assuming the A.M., but in either case I'm quite sure you're right about 5:30 puck drop for the scrimmage.

According to the guys on Hockey Hotline - Sabre fans definiately taking advantage of the 50% off deal at the Sabres Store - lines are like 12 deep at each registar. (I think there are six-eight registars?) Hopefully they have a jersey leftover - non Vanek, Myers, Miller and Ennis, since I already have jerseys of those players - when I get there later in the week for a practice. Unfortunately I can't get there today especially later tonight for the practice/scrimmage.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - #Amerks headed to #Sabres for tonight's 5:30 practice/scrimmage at FNC:
Porter, Mancari, Tarnasky, Adam, Flynn, McNabb, Pysyk and Biega.

Opps! I see that Woodhouse already posted this - should have re-loaded this thread.

Well, I was 7/8; Biega rather than Finley:

Watching NHL network last night and they did divisional previews. Had Kelly Chase, Kevin Weekes and Bobby Mac on.

Bobby Mac made it simple, if Miller returns to form, they will succeed.

Chase and Weekes talked about the transformation of the team to become harder to play against. Both were very clear that Scott should dress most every game and just being there will have a huge impact on the the rest of the team and how teams treat them. They referenced the impact Dave Semenko had on opposing teams. The rest of the players will have a little less to worry about and be a bit more mentally focused, and fresh for the playoffs. They like the change from a "redundant" lineup of mostly smaller skilled palyers to a mix of skill and physical players.
