Kundratek with 12 goals on the year...I called that trade as being horrible the minute it happened.

Well...Kolzig might say anything and I wouldn't be amazed.

Anyway it was fun for me to say that about TP. I hated him as a Ranger but my comment was meant in good humor.

He has really good on-ice vision, decently smart, but smallish (actually, more weak than small) and not fast enough for the NHL given his strength.
MOV was just loaned to Norfolk in the AHL. I guess he's on an ECHL contract and not an AHL contract.

Jason Wilson back up with CT. Maybe due to Hrivik's injury?

Whale up 1-0 after one. Tessier scored SH on a 3-on-1 rush.

Teams can't claim someone off waivers and assign him to the AHL.

How long is that for this year?
Keep him up as a #13 if it is shortened to a 2 week stint for this lockout season (if not - ie 30 days - then agree there is no point). We need some big bodies in CT!

After a good game into the second period, horrendous goal given up by Talbot just now. Off the back boards, off of Talbot's pad and into the net.

Also, Bourque is an underrated prospect. He'd be a wonderful player if he were 3 inches taller, but in any event, we shouldn't totally write him off.

Thomas tries hard, but seems to be a split second too slow for the AHL because if his execution was just a tad bit better, he'd be a massive scorer at this level.

Tyutin trade 2.0.

At this point, I would stick to SEL and NCAA drafting strictly.

Goal scorer's goal by NB. Went around the defenseman and made a great shot. Kolarik gets the lone assist.

And we just scored another goal. Genuine Draft from Vernace and Yoggi.

In other news... you know what annoys me about McIlrath? He makes a pass and then just stands like he's a fan. Move!

EDIT: But now at the end of the period, McIlrath made a very nice pass to set up Thomas, but it was blocked. Still very nice job, a pass more resembling MDZ than Purinton.

Apparently he wanted out...frustrating because they obviously could have used him for the 3rd pairing or 7th D this year or last year

If we're lucky, that's just something that will get better as he continues adjusting

Pyett scored. They said unassisted, but Jean should've really gotten an assist on that one. +1 for McIlrath for being on the ice.

Edit 1: Thomas was just stopped on a semi-breakaway. He's all over the place, just can't finish.

Edit 2: Our defense blows. Collins and Vernace combined for a brutal giveaway. At times like these I feel bad for Talbot.

Under the last CBA it was (if I remember correctly) at least 30 days--I would be shocked if this rule has changed. The waiver rules were set up so teams could not grab players off of waivers and bury them in the minors. If the Rangers want/need someone for Hartford they will have to wait until the player(s) clear waivers and then make a trade. Or else sign someone who is UFA to an AHL contract. You don't get something for nothing.

Segal just scored a shorthander after their goalie mishandled the puck behind the net. He just put it in the empty net from half a foot out. Second shorthanded goal of the game.

Looks like McIlrath got his first point. NB just scored. The Undertaker should get an assist.

Oh baby, Thomas is fighting. Big fight, punches thrown all out. Heeeextall landed 5 punches in a row after Thomas landed one, but CT showed something by taking the punches and still standing and then returning a few punches back. Excellent fight with fists just flying. I'm impressed that CT can do this.

Unbelievably bad defense now. Just horrendous. These guys must truly hate Talbot because it seems like they are trying to set up the Pirates to score against him.

He's had an excellent game, except for the bad bounce goal.
