When I broke my arm, after they took the cast off, I couldn't fully extend my arm for a really long time but in no way was I "still injured".
He's "injured" in the sense that his body isn't back to doing everything it should be able to do.

When I was hit in hockey and my shoulder popped out, to this day I'm still feeling effects from it but I can still partake in hockey and daily activities. Some days I can barely lift my arm to a certain height (like Kes) but it doesn't effect me while I play hockey. I didn't have shoulder surgery, so I'm not comparing my injeuy to Kesler's, but the effect after the injury is somewhat similar.

I never really took the comment of Kesler being unable to raise his arm above his shoulder as a terrible setback and still don't. I feel it's really nothing to even worry about. He has the best doctors, trainers and what not, I think he just needs some time to work his shoulder.

I don't have that much faith in the Canucks trainers after letting Mason Raymond skate off of the ice with a broken back.

This never doesn't have a problem, do they?
At least it's just DTD.

I think a lot of our guys will have trouble because they haven't played anything close to real games. I expect many groin and hamstring issues in the next few weeks.

Don't stress too much, every team in the league will be going through the same thing.

Now, if they tweet that they're shutting Kesler down for the season...then it's time to worry...

So we trade Hodgson for Kassian and it's our player that is going to be dealing with back issues going forward? I wouldn't expect anything less.

Dan Hamhuis was insanely durable before coming to Vancouver. What happended to our durable duo of Hamhuis/Ballard?

At least Booth could never stay healthy in Florida. Easier pill to swallow knowing he won't stay healthy for us for any extended period of time.

Yeah, Hamhuis getting concussed twice then wrecking his grown within two season has been a shocker. And it's not like he has done anything differently, either - all three major injuries were him just playing defence as he always did, it's not as if he was caught skating up the ice with his head down (as we would expect from Booth).

You guys weren't expecting groin strains?

After playing shiny for like 4.5 months then getting into hard, fast pace drills this was going to happen. Its going to happen to multiple teams too.

There are going to be a lot of groin, hamstring and hip flexor issues throughout the season I would think. It's the reality of players going this long without games or full-fledged practices and then jumping right into a condensed season. It's going to be the same for every team.

It does make me wonder if our coaches tried to do a little too much with the first practice though.

I think we might see a league wide record for minor injuries this year... depth will be more important then ever.

Hamhuis
Bieksa
Edler
Garrison
Ballard
Tanev
Barker
Connauton

That essentially gives us 6 defensemen who can play in the top 4, including Ballard and Tanev. And we have 8 NHL ready defensemen overall.

Alberts should be in there as well.
