Luckily we have no worries now as he signed with the Canucks. If he ever sees ice time our O can take advantage of his schwagy defense.

Buffalo has D-men to trade, but they need proven NHL caliber help at Center. So the cost will be high, but my question is, does Minnesota have anything to offer the Sabres?

But I do think Jordan Leopold could be had, he's from Golden Valley, and the Sabres have some "up and comers" that have played well at the NHL level, (Brennan, Weber, Sulzer).

Leopold might not be a perfect fit, but their are worse options out there.

Kyle Brodziak.

At least that's who should be available, but won't be.

We're not giving up Brodziak and you're crazy to think we should give him up.

Brodziak was the MVP of the team for the better part of the year last season.

You'd be crazy not to have Brodziak on the block. As soon as this year his value will tank, and his usefulness on this team will vanish. His stats have been inflated by ice time well above his skill level, and he's not a great defensive bottom-6 checker either. Granlund and soon Larsson will likely make Brodziak an overpaid, low-value player. He will have no valuable role on this team in short order. Plus, he'll be 29 in May, in the peak area for forwards.

But like I expect, we won't use player values wisely and will waste an opportunity to make a deal.

I'm so glad that SoH isn't affiliated with the Wild brass in any way.

I see you point SoH. There are just too many maybes. Also trading a guy after signing him is not cool. Maybe next offseason is Brodz starts to decline and all our our other C's pan out. But I don't think trading Brodz now is wise. He seems to be very durable and that is extra valuable for the Wild.

Oh I definitely see his point, too. But this is not Be A GM or a management game, and those are not names with certain stats and a trade value. Player's character also comes into question. You don't make trades because player is at "his maximum value". We need Brodziak. Sure, many other teams would like some Kyle too, and understandably so. We might even get a good return. And I still wouldn't care. He is valuable to us as a 3rd line center right now. If Larsson or Phillips manage to prove that they are better options, good. Then we trade him. But until then, he'll be our 3C.

Congrats. You broke my brain with this argument. And here I thought I was negative.

Brodziak was a) one of our healthiest forwards last year b) showed a lot of teamwork c) scored 6 more goals and d) showed some consistently last season and why am I even arguing this?

Here's the thing SoH; even when I'm pissy, I at least recognize the outstanding nature of this team's rebuilding. Have you even said one thing positive about this organization?

There's a lot of players on this team that I would trade before I even consider trading Brodziak.
