Performance bonus cushion of 7.5% will remain but it will no longer be counted to help clubs get to the floor or minimum salary!

https://twitter.com/brianlawton9

That should be fun.

I can't wait for this "greedy" nonsense to go away.

This is great news IMO. Not only for us but all the "cheaters" that used this to skirt the cap floor. I Hope that if a team gets Rev Sharing that they also have to use it properly. I guess that hard to police though

They were saying on NHL home ice this morning about teams being able to trade players and retain some of the cap hit. This could make some trades of higher priced players happen more often. They sad it would be 50% of the cap hit could be retained or something.

Ticket prices for Isles games and Game Center Compensation?

Do you think ticket prices will be in the lower end this time around to A. Attract Fans back from lockout B. Boost Attendance ?

They had done away with some of the student deals last year and it was frustrating to see some of the more attractive options go out the window.

Also, has there been any word on compensation from the league such as Game Center Live?

I know we will see the Islander Carkner all over Crosby this season, so at least Islander fans are covered from that facet of the game.

Boy, was it frustrating me to constantly see Crosby's smug, pseudo-intellectual face on TSN clamoring for more money.

I hope to see Crosby's tears on TSN soon enough!

Genuine NHL fans don't forget the havoc he stirred during the lockout!

The NHL summary of terms mentions a Moulson grievance. Anyone have any idea what that is about?

Sorry if this has been covered, but there are a lot of potential threads that this could be posted in and I tried to skim/search them as best as possible.

I have read that with the amnesty buyouts starting next summer, you can't buy out a player who is injured in an effort to protect the players. This has led to speculation that Montreal will be paying Gomez NOT to play as well as the Rangers and Redden, in order to eliminate the possibility of being unable to use the amnesty clause on them.

So, do we not have this fear with DP? I'm not trying to bash the guy, but it has been a pretty recurring theme each season that he just plays until he hurts himself and then is shut down, however soon that happens. If management is planning on having him as the number 2, and with a tight schedule giving him a solid amount of starts, aren't we essentially shooting ourselves in the foot? Not being able to use this amnesty clause on the DP contract would be borderline unforgivable.

If he gets injured then insurance takes over so you don't lose much by keeping him around. The only time that becomes a concern is when you are pressed against the salary cap ceiling but that won't be a problem for this club a for a long time.

I think once we go to BKYLN it could become a issue. I think we become a cap team soon

Does anyone know how the "make whole" things works on the cap.
For example a guy with a large contract say 7M cap hit before lockout is it getting prorated for the new CBA ?
I know the players get there $ but how does this work on the cap ?

I didn't see anything and quickly scanned this thread.

Was there anything on revenue sharing changes?

Are the Isles eligible to receive revenue sharing?

Other than some highlights I don't think all the principle details have been put on full paper yet. I would imagine we'll see more details as they become available.
