Clutterbuck and Setoguchi to SJ

Seeing alot of Wild fans wanting to better their D, and also seeing some bag on Seto while saying Clutterbuck is expendable due to upcoming players.

With that said, I'd propose:

To SJ:
Clutterbuck
Setoguchi

To MIN:
Boyle

I'd hate to give Boyle away but I believe this addresses needs for both sides - depth for SJ and high end D for MIN.

Marleau-Thornton-Setoguchi
Clowe - Couture - Havlat
Wingles-Pavelski-Clutterbuck
Galliardi-Handzeus-Burish

Vlasic-Burns
Stuart-Demers
Murray-Braun

Good forward depth. Would miss Boyles puck handling on the pp but would really like the added hitting that both players add to our lineup. I like it.

The value isn't there for the Wild to trade for a 36-37 yr old dman. Boyle is great but he doesn't fit the Wild M.O.

I'd do it. We need scoring depth and we can absorb the loss of Boyle due to our depth at D.

I'd say value is pretty close - you don't find Dmen like Boyle growing on trees... I drooled at the prospect of seeing Boyle/Sutter on the PP together in SJ before he signed with you.

Change Boyle to Demers & Clowe and we might be talking. Or just Clutter for Demers.

Demers is off limits but we could send you Braun for him.

I wouldn't do it for Boyle. Seto is on a friendly contract.

Way to much for a player who's closer to 40. I like Boyle but trading two significant role players who can play in the top 6 for another offensive dman, just doesnt make any sense for Minn. Because of his age, Boyle is worth a number 1 or a significant prospect and that says a lot.

Boyle's a great defenseman, but...

By the time our current prospects mature and begin to actually contribute, Boyle will likely be retired.

Respectfully decline from Minnesota's perspective.

I'd swap out Clutterbuck and substitute in Mitchell. It is my opinion that Setoguchi and Mitchell would be a package deal for one defenseman.

Seto + Mitchell for Boyle about right?

That would put San Jose at:
Marleau-Thornton-Setoguchi
Clowe - Couture - Havlat
Wingles-Pavelski-Mitchell
Galliardi-Handzeus-Burish

Vlasic-Burns
Stuart-Demers
Murray-Braun

That would put Minnesota at:
Parise - Koivu - Heatley
Cullen - Granlund - Bouchard
Clutterbuck - Brodziak - Veilleux/Dowell
Powe - Konopka - Kassian/Veilleux/Dowell

Suter - Spurgeon
Gilbert - Boyle
Falk - Stoner - Prosser

When Scandella comes back:
Suter - Gilbert
Boyle - Scandella
Stoner - Spurgeon - Falk

Nevermind. I didn't realize that Boyle's cap hit was that ginormous.

The Sharks did not want Mitchell for free - doubt they would trade for him.
