I have a 3 month Xbox Live card that came with my Kinect. I might re-activate my account just to poke around and see what's up with this. Its very confusing that its listed on the Live Sports page.

Same here. My basic cable is included in my home association fees, but I pay extra for digitial + boxes which is required to get any sports package as well as the on demand video. There are way better services that Comcast On Demand available through Xbox Live like Hulu and Netflix for less money.

Comcast Emp. here.. just a quick update.

Still no pricing or availability information available for NHL Center Ice. I'd assume we won't have the info until at least Monday at this point. My fingers are crossed.

Keep tabs on http://www.indemand.com/sports/nhl/ as well for details.

Tell them it's 2013 and to get with the program. 1 HD channel for Center Ice is pathetic.

Not sure if posted but on the main board I see 3 or 4 posters saying they have been told 59.99+/- for CI.

Any ideas if the Game centre apps will be released this year?

It's my main way of watching all the b's games outside of streaming.

A slap in the face. Shaw can blow me, I'm giving them nothing (after they cranked up the price on Sunday Ticket this year).

Gamecenter or bust. I still have not decided if I'm going to get it or not. I'm still wary of giving the NHL my hard earned money this year. I may spend the season stealing the games from the internet.

Thread on main board says CI might be free on Comcast and possibly other systems. GameCenter might be free too.

http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh....php?t=1320033

Meanwhile, NBC/NBCSN will broadcast 70 games, and NHLN another 78.

That should clear things out for you.

The NHL doesn't have full ownership of the package. A company called inDEMAND -- which runs similar packages for the NBA, MLB and MLS -- does. They would need the approval of literally every cable and satellite company that runs the package -- everyone from DIRECTV to Comcast -- to make it happen, as inDEMAND and the cable companies all want a piece of those pricey subscriber fees. A discount? Perhaps. A free season of Center Ice? Logistically impossible.

Yah, the Shaw reps are usually clueless. I had an argument last week with them about Sunday Ticket. The guy on the line was telling me that Sunday Ticket lasted until the end of January, congruent with the regular season. I told him the regular season ended at the end of December and he told me I was wrong.

I am not giving them my money. I'll get Gamecenter if they discount it a little.

Just checking the sked on nhl.com. Between NBC/NBCSN/NHLN-US, there is at least one game on every day of the season, except March 10. Only 2 games are scheduled for Mar 10, one of which involves the Bruins, which of course will be on NESN.

The Center Ice price has been posted on their website at $49.99 with the free preview lasting through Jan 31st (http://www.indemand.com/sports/nhl/). That works out to about $1 per Bruins game before taxes and fees, which is pretty dang cheap compared to something like $179 for 82 games in the past.

I can't find a price for Game Center Live on their website. They are still advertising the Vault subscription for $5/mo. I am hoping they do the right thing, and drop the GC Live price to something like $10/mo and throw in the Vault for free through the end of the playoffs.

Edit:

Here is a clue from a poster on the main board that Game Center will be $49.99 as well http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...&postcount=475

I'm waiting for an official announcement though, in case that price is a discount for past subscribers or something.

TBH from what I can tell those of us in the NESN sphere of infuence should have plenty of hockey to watch between NESN, NBC/NBCSN and the NHL Network. I would like to try out GCL though if cheap enough just to see how the quality is etc.

$49.99 for Center Ice this season. No word on if this is "Early Bird" pricing or not.

http://www.indemand.com/sports/nhl/

As an aside NHL Network is primed up to show 78 regular season games and NBC Sports I think has at least 50 this year. There should be some great visibility for consumers who can get both of those channels. But Center Ice for $49.99 (And hopefully GameCenter too) is a great deal imo.

Keep in mind that unless you're using a proxy, if you're in NESN territory, GameCenter will blackout any Bs game.

I just received this info from Bell -"I am pleased to tell you the cost of the NHL CI that is 2 payments of$25.24 (all fees included)."
This sounds good to me.

Definitely a good deal. I have to pay $8.99/month alone if I want the NHL Network along with other sports channels I'll never watch.

Oh man, that really stinks. Luckily NHL Network is part of my "Digital Starter" package which is the first level of digital channels.

Rogers has just informed me that they are no longer offering NHL Center Ice as a Stand Alone Product. The 2011-2012 season was the last time that they offered it as a Stand Alone Product. So Rogers customers can't get the discounted rate as the Super Sports Package is $36.31 a Month. Also I think there is a 3 month minimum commitment on the Super Sports Package.
