Pipe dream, but I can see Sheifele or Burmistrov being offered.
I dont see it happening. JVR wont be moved for anything less than a #1C. Trading him for futures doent make it sense. JVR is the right age with the rest of the cores guys in Tor. Unless a full scale tear down happens, i dont see it.
Funny seeing what some Leaf fans expect to get in return for JVR when they only gave up L. Schenn to get him. I love how Leaf players quadruple in value as soon as they put on that blue and white jersey.
This is kinda weird. As said, both teams have similar needs. I would do a Kane/JVR swap, if management didn't like Kane, although A) Yes, Kane is more valuable and B) I can't see JVR being traded right after being acquired.
While Kane is too much value, the other piece i'm interested in is Schiefele who's value is a little too low.
I wouldn't be surprised to see if Chevy's testing the water to see how much faith MLSE has in Burke's last trade for the team. No idea what we'd give up, though I can see a conditional 2nd rounder being thrown in there somewhere.

Burmistrov is comparable value for JVR
It's funny how Flyer fans would always protect JVR and say Schenn's is not even close value wise now **** on him any chance they get. All of the sudden he's no good?
I disagree. IMO, since entering the league, Burmi has been brilliant the first 20 games a season, or so, but the remaining 60, you forget he's even on your team.
Other GMs can inquire all they want about other teams players. It doesn't mean that the other team is willing to deal him.
If (and this is a big if) management is looking to deal Kane, they're obviously sniffing around to find another big top six winger. If the Leafs and Jets agree on a deal for JVR in principle, the Jets can deal Kane to another team and then grab JVR from Toronto. Also the possibility exists of a three-way trade.
Why should he be apologetic about it? I know most people his age wouldn't be genuinely sorry about the picture. I'd rather him not fake it.
Fair enough. It's a personal opinion on my behalf. Just like people can have problems with Phil Kessel's awkwardness around the camera and subsequent shyness, I can have similar issues with one's openness. His character issues have been heavily rumored and where there is smoke, there is usually fire.

It's not what we're expecting to get, it's what there is on the Jets that interests us, and there isn't too much because our needs are similar. Burmistrov and Scheifele are both relatively unproven players which we don't need, and the Jets seem to need those centers as well.
Very rare for a player to be traded and then traded again without having played a game. Jets may have inquired but I doubt the Leafs will trade him. JVR is one of their nicest assets right now.

We haven't even played the guy yet.
Schenn was someone leaf fans only wanted an upgrade for on offense, or we would rather keep him.
The trade addressed exactly what we were saying.
Why would we ask for value for a player we need in our lineup?
Unless it's a staggering proposal, they wont even consider. We shouldn't and aren't the ones approaching the Jets.

What has Burmistrov done in the NHL to warrant a JVR-like value?
The only way I could see this being pulled off is if the Jets really had soured on Evander Kane and were looking for another power forward to replace him, or if the rumors about Toronto ownership coveting a high pick in the 2013 draft are true and the Leafs were willing to move JVR for futures like Mark Scheifele.
Those rumors could make sense. Burke would never, ever tank. Nonis if asked, would do it, but do it properly, great for managing youth. Perhaps they really do want a franchise player..

funny how leafs haters post idiotic things like u just did, no one said JVR`s value now is bigger after the trade, we are happy to have him and we expect to see him play...if a team already wants him what should we do trade him for whatever player ?? the jets don`t have what we need or if they have they won`t trade those players...so get lost now pls

This. Perhaps we should dig up those old threads about how some Flyers fans wouldn't even trade JVR straight up for L. Schenn, now that he's a Leaf his vaule diminishes just like any other Leaf player.

Leaf fans love jvr when hes never been great and hasnt even played a game yet. rofl
Once again, can we not see the kid play first? Is it so wrong for wanting to watch a young player who you just acquired to play before shipping him out of town? Unless it's an overpayment like Kane there is no point.
