If we are looking for offense...

I'd rather move Cole with Plekanec to keep Pacioretty with DD and since Cole is a better 2 way player at this point, but I'd be moving too many guys to their off sides.
Doesn't Gally only have experience at LW and C? If so, I wouldn't want to shift him to start in a higher level league. Especially since I think Bourque is a natural RW too.

Would not give up on that bump.

That should quell speculation that he's ready to quit.

Men... Gal will be IF he is good enough this year. All the hab management are saying the same thing. If he is very bad and make a complete line be awful, was keep him. Imaging how he will feel, and how the players with him will...

Eller line wasn't good last year in defense has a reminber it. Imagine, Gomez seem to be better!

Funny but true: top player play better with top players. If Gally is ready, it should be for the first two lines.

It's a shame that won't happen..because that's actually a good offense. Potential to shift players around without screwing over the top 9 too.

Just not a big fan of Kostitsyn and Bourque in the same team.

kostitsyn on your third line is a luxury not many teams can boast. Bourque on your first, though...

Although you can't really call that line a first line to begin with. That's easily your soft minutes line with DD and bourque on it. Kostitsyn on Eller's line were doing very well against some pretty tough opposition last year. Don't see why habs fans wouldn't jump at the chance to get him back on that line *if* the goal is winning.

Is it really worse than Bourque and Armstrong in the top 9? Especially if we get last years Armstrong?

Kostitsyn is not even good in the KHL. I know we're desperate, but come on...

I really really like that lineup. Splitting Cole and Pacioretty really benefits the team offensively more than piling them on one line. Bourque needs the soft matchups. Pleks, Cole and Galchenyuk is a good mix of styles. I would trust Moen, Eller and Gionta for tougher matchups, maybe not the toughest (Eller still needs to prove he matchup consistently), but tougher for sure.

It makes sense.

he's so bad he's 3rd in goals on his team, 1 goal away from having second most goals and has played a few less games. Considering Andrei is a complimentary forward, he's doing fine and scoring at the same pace he was in the nhl.

I think that Kostitsyn's success with Eller is a bit exaggerated in this board. Probably due to Eller's 4 goal game in which Kostitsyn was pretty good. He did have some good times, but most of the time he wasn't effective. I mean yes, he throws the body around and plays decent defensively, but still not on a consistent basis, so it makes him a one-dimensional player. Just like Bourque is. If they don't score, they're pretty much invisible.

They could both do other things well, but not in a nearly enough consistent basis. I'd love a player who is streaky, scores close to 20 goals a year on a 3rd line, it's just that Kostitsyn's performance pretty much depends on his goal scoring. Having one player like them is enough in my honest opinion. I'd prefer to have a guy who'll scores a bit less, but forechecks like a demon and intimidates the opposing defenders in their own zone on that line (Eller,Gionta).

Besides his amazing year with Kovalev and Plekanec, Kostitsyn has been a frustrating player to watch. Always fumbling the puck and not implicated in the game as much as he could.

Kostitsyn was a bust, move on.

Gally coming in and being ready from day 1 suddenly makes this season even more exciting. I think he and Pleks will be magic giving us 2 legit scoring lines.

Kostitsyn with Eller and Moen had worked the year prior as well. They were dynamite that year as well. The Boston game where Patches got hurt was another good showing of them together. It also extended beyond Eller's 4 goal game. Everytime that line was hot, it got split up.

I think the problem with that line is that they were hot and then disappeared for 10 games.
