Love it
Potter/peckham won't have to play now. Fistric is a big guy we needed a big guy that can hit

Wild, totally unwarranted crazy butt crackpot theories:
  • It's just a coincidence that he's "tweaked something"
  • He failed the physical and so the Oilers did this as a response
  • He was originally intended to be in this trade, but Dallas ultimately didn't want him
  • They intend to pass him through waivers but they want to wait until after camp to do it so that other teams have finished picking up FAs first (but if this is the case, why not run him with the rest in camp anyway?)
We need depth. Period. If anyone here thinks we're going through a 48 condensed schedule with no injuries; you're crazy. And as sad as it is, we need Pecks for when that happens... Unless we continue to upgrade.

I'm definitely a fan of this move, and I'm don't mean to come off being critical of Fistric or this trade in general. I just don't think Peckham is as awful as he's been portrayed around here lately, and both players are 6/7 defensemen.

Kind of like how we replaced Jacques and Mac with Eager and Hordichuk. Both good moves, and definite upgrades, but still bottom of the roster players.

Hmm, I wonder if he's capable of hitting guys when they still have the puck. Last two videos seem to suggest not.

Bottom pairing Dman for a 3rd rounder, can't go wrong with that. Not a game changer but a very solid pickup.

love this move. Fristric is a great (even better) replacement for Sutton.

Him and Whitney will be solid as a 5-6 pair. nice work tambo.

Ya, that's what I though, thanks.

Seems like a pretty cheap alternative for a guy who can play defense and run guys over.

2 videos is hardly conclusive, but even if not, it's still useful if guys start to shy away from his side of the ice.

I like it. He's always played the Oilers tough. Homecoming for him as well.

Dallas' blueline is really thin right now. I'm not really sure what Joe is doing here... gearing up to take on a big salary?

This ^!

Anyone remember this one?

Quote:
Fistric is known for his aggressive physical play. In a game against the Calgary Flames on January 27, 2010, Fistric received a match penalty for intent to injure after hitting opposing forward Eric Nystrom (who later became a Stars teammate) over the head with his own helmet during a fight, when the helmet became caught on his hand. The following day, he was fined $2,500 by the league for the incident.[4]

I'm noticing in all of Fistric's highlight reel hits, he LOVES to throw the elbow in his hits. Could be trouble...

That's impressive considering that he only played 60 games.

Expect that to go down. The Dallas stats guy is known to be generous in giving out hits

I think part of it was he wasn't going to play in Dallas and he wanted out period. coming home is just a bonus

Who cares? We need someone that plays with an edge. Be nice to dish some punishment to the other team instead of always being the team that takes the hits first.
