Extremely happy with this move.

Low risk, possibly high reward.

Possibly the most united I've ever seen HFOilers

Fistric played 60 games last year and battled some injuries as well. The Stars' blueline looks horrible right now; there's no way that he wasn't making the team.

More out of Dallas.

Dallas must be crazy.
I like Teddy. We should hang on to him. If there are injuries and we have to play Potter for any stretch I will be unimpressed.

So many hurt Stars fans on the main boards just slagging this deal.

It is a good deal if he stays healthy and does what he does. Especially with Sutton out. Play 18 minutes a night and play physical. He isn't going to put up numbers but we got the boys to do that.

For a 3rd it is a steal

200+ hits last year, and you use 2 YouTube videos to conclude he doesn't thit people when they have the puck...

So awesome.

Potter was actually effective at the whole playing hockey thing for short stretches, though. Peckham never really got that part down.

I am a fan of these low-risk moves. Fistric fills a hole we really needed to fill, and we gave up peanuts for that hole to be filled.

Hopefully we're not trading away one of our other D sometime soon though. As bad as they may be, if a couple guys go down to injury, we'd be wishing we had Peckham as a filler rather than whoever they would decide to throw in if they get rid of him. (Teubert?)

Thanks. Frankly any move that dropped Peckham and Potter down the depth charts would be a good move. Adding toughness and a touch of crazy is just gravy.
Would you say the same thing if it was Barker?

He's a good depth player in ball hockey too!

I just watched that string of you tube videos of Fristric and the majority of his hits are borderline late, the puck carrier gets rid of the puck than gets hit. I hope he knows where the line is, I think he has only been suspended once so it seems like he does..

It is a step in the right direction. If not this year, Fistric is a nice young defensemen who should be a part of your success for a few years to come. I really like this move for you guys.

I would have been over the moon had we moved a 4th instead, but someone would have forked over a 3rd at the deadline, so I suppose I can't nitpick.

Good move to add a predator like Fistric. For far too long we haven't had a player who consistently pelts opponents for simply stepping into his zone.

Hope one of Fistric/Whitney can play the right side!

It's youtube and Mark Fistric, a guy that not many really knows about. Who exactly would have all his nice clean hits? people go to youtube and put crushing hits that are borderline.

What ever happened to that Fedun kid, the one that broke his leg at training camp? Is he still with the oilers?

Hmmm, pretty simple to read what you posted.

Anyway, a very low risk move that give us a very much needed sandpaper #6 D man and should make us a little tougher to play against.

Solid move by Tambo.

Good move that I like and can get behind.

Fristic is only 26 and hometown guy. He plays like a D-man we need on the roster. And unlike Peckham, I do think he has some potential to develop into a 2nd pairing guy. He's physical and blocks a lot of shots. It seemed he was being used as a #5 when healthy last season. I think he becomes a fairly good partner for Whitney and hopefully if he can develop his game, become a 2nd pairing guy for us.

Well done Tambo.

AWESOME. We went out and bought some balls. We'll need them in the Western Conference this year.

thanks man, I think most oiler fans genuinely like this move, its a safe move. We aren't expecting him to change games but it'll be nice if he is on the giving end of some huge hits

yeah i don't really see him as an upgrade on peckham myself.... maybe a bit of an upgrade as he has more experience, but it's not going to be a huge difference

solid trade though, D was area of weakness and we basically don't give up anything for him.... hopefully we keep peckham though still, as i don't like our chances of going injury free on the backend all season
