The problem was that they were never kept together for more than 10 games at a time. Kostitsyn was always moved around the lineup every time he got hot. That was the problem. The team demoted him to get him going and then tried to place him up on higher lines. They needed to keep him where he was. That is why the line never stayed in tact.

It's really hard to gauge Therrien's view of Eller.

If we get last years Armstrong it is worse, if we get Armstrong from Atlanta, I think we'd be better off. Armstrong's game is more consistent than Kostitsyn's.

I keep getting this feeling that Eller and Subban will be traded this season. Kind of scares me. I hope I'm wrong.

Coastitsyn would do well in a 48 game season. That's almost the exact number of games where he actually tries.

Anyone know what Brian Savage is up to?

you have a faulty memory buddy... pull up the stats of those 3 players playing together the last 2 years and you'll be surprised.. last year before Kostytyn was sent down on the fourth line he had 12 goals in 41 games... thats 24 in 82..... How many would he have if that line didnt disapear for 10 games like you say?

The problem that I have when people say that Kostitsyn always got moved when he got hot is that the fail at holding him accountable for the times he disappeared. It's no coincidence that he was always moved around, it takes some sort of planet alignment to get him going...for like 5 games.

Anyways, time to move on.

I'd like Gally to play on the same line than Gio, as he would benefit from Gio's advices, leadership and experience, centered by Plek who plays a very responsible game. That would be a perfect situation for him.

He had like a 6 goals in 4 games at the beginning of that year or something, then 6 in 30 something. He would've stayed on that line if he was a more well rounded forward, but his game pretty much depended on his production.

I dont know where you pull those numbers from but he had 12 in 41 before getting put on the fourth... Something is way off with your numbers.. 24 goals in 82 games (projected) what do you want more from a 3rd line guy playing 13min a game with barely any powerplay?

yeah I saaw Gamecenter is going for 50 bucks for the shortened season. If Unblock us work, that'd be a good deal.

Pacioretty - Desharnais - Bourque
Galchenyuk - Plekanec - Cole
Moen - Eller - Gionta
Prust - White - Armstrong
He's played an a large amount of RW this year as well. There was actually a debate about if he's played LW or RW more on the main board. Some were saying RW because that's the side of the ice that Galchenyuk loves to pass from, others were saying LW because he lines up on the left side for faceoffs. Either way, he's played all three forward positions this year in Sarnia.

I really like your line up. Not sure about splitting up the Pacioretty - Desharnais - Cole line, but it spreads out the offence.

Kostitsyn played with Plekanec for long stretches, he wasn't always a 3rd liner.

Check his game log from 2010-2011, he had something like 6 goals in 9 games to start the season, then look after that.
http://espn.go.com/nhl/player/gamelo...drei-kostitsyn

You can also see long droughts in 2012 and many people unlike yourself remember those droughts.
http://espn.go.com/nhl/player/gamelo...drei-kostitsyn

When he was demoted it wasn't only because he was in a scoring drought, it's because he completely disappeared. Kostitsyn was way too far inconsistent, not only in his production, which is not a big problem for a 3rd liner, but in his implication in the game.

I couldn't care less about his projected numbers, most of the time, the situation called for him being demoted, he had to be held accountable for his poor play.

Habs would be blocked for games on Sportsnet and TSN... I guess you'd be able to watch if the game is streamed from RDS.

Stuff about how it's time for him to reach the next step. Trying to force feed the wing to him. Just the context its said in, makes it sounds like Eller thus far has been a disappointement. i could be wrong and overreacting, I hope I am.
