Nobody knows at this point. A lot of reporters have made mention that 'free center ice' or at least SOMETHING needs to be done for the fans.
NHL Center would be part of HRR I'd assume, so giving it away for free would be something they'd need to have discussed with the NHLPA unless the league decides to 'take the hit' fully.
I'm expecting AT MINIMUM that Gamecenter Live will be offered for free or perhaps a 1 or 2 week period of time where you can sign up for a free password for the season or something like that. If there is NOTHING for the fans, I'll be extremely pissed, since my team is not local for me.
What I was reading the other day was that Comcast would be offering it free to their subscribers when the season begins, the holdup was the league trying to get other providers to follow suit, particularly Directv.
As of right now, Center Ice is on my subscription and listed as $0 with Directv, I did not pay for it during the lockout and my account says I have it active. Take that for what you will.
In other news, the team I coached last night made an awesome comeback when down 1-2 in the 3rd. We dominated the game with possibly 40+ shots and only a handful against (unlucky goal gave them the lead) and it felt awesome to know that my strategy works during a game. I split time with another coach and he was out last game, usually his plan involves sending his son out for 4+ minute shifts to try and get him to score all the goals (guy nearly lost us the game this time, never passes... poor kid doesn't understand it's a team sport).
I looked at my go-to defensive pairing a minute into OT and said "Make me proud guys" and the one kid I've seen the most progress from this season took the slapshot off the draw and bombed it through the goalie's five hole. Never seen him so happy.
That's what coaching is about, I could definitely see myself doing it for years with this group of 14-16 year olds.
Hey guys, I was wanting to get a new pair of gloves and probably a pair of shin guards. And I needed a new stick blade as I just broke mine for my luckily two-piece stick. I am definitely a beginner and not looking for anything fancy. I have a little money to spend, but want to keep things rather cheap. I understand that things tend to be more preference based, but I was wanting to get some advice on things to look for. I want especially the gloves to last me a little longer so I want some durability there. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
I grabbed Varly for my hockey pool. Hoping ROR pulls his head out of his ass and do the smart thing and sign before the puck drops. I would guess it's not a popular decision on the team. Finally a year when they have a solid chance to make the playoffs and then ROR pulls one.
So, I had my first ever Roller Hockey game tonight.
We lost in an OT Shootout. In our league if we reach OT you go a 5-on-5 Shootout, if you're tied at the end of that shootout you are then in Sudden Death shootout where next goal wins (no matter what, other team doesn't get a chance to match if they normally would have).
We went all through the first 5 guys, of which I was not apart of, I was the 1st up in the Sudden Death shootout, puck rolled right off my stick on my shot and I ended up crashing into the goalie and falling onto him...not my best moment.
Then we went through everyone AGAIN, and we're still tied. Then we went through our first 4 shooters, and missed, their 4th shooter made it.
I felt that I was playing well overall, making a couple of nice defensive plays, and then with about 5 min left in the game, with the game tied, I committed a HORRENDOUS turnover and the other team scored. I was absolutely furious with myself. I was at about center rink, and the defensemen makes a nice pass to me, but I missed the puck, and it bounced off my skate and to the opposing team and they skated in and scored. I was absolutely devastated.
Now. I'm going to need some opinions here. I thought I should have been credited with an Assist in the game that made it a 1 goal game for us, I somehow got the puck in front of the goalie, but I had a player on the side of the net with much better hands than I, as well as having a much better shot.
I pass it to him, and he shoots, the goalie makes the initial save but leaves a juicy rebound, and the guy shoots it again and scores. I wasn't credited with an Assist on it, and maybe I shouldn't have been...either way, I felt I made a nice play to help get a goal.
Overall, I had a blast, we have a bye week next week and then we're back at it. I can't wait for our 2nd game, even though I'm painfully outmatched, I just want to keep playing and keep getting better.
Weak red? Come on SEPH, I have no horse in this race but that's as clear a red as you'll find. Your boy had both hands wrapped around the attacker and dragged him down, not to mention he was the last man back. That's usually an automatic red.
Again, I have no horse in the race. There's a couple of players I like from both teams(Aguero, Silva, Yaya, Hart/ Cazorla, Podolski,Sagna) I just wanted to see some attractive/competitive football match and Koscienly robbed us both of that.
It was a penatly for sure, but I still think it was a weak call considering the ball was on the side of him and not in front for a prime scoring chance.

I agree. I don't think it was a red card. Penalty 100%, but red card was very very harsh.
Just watched Avs/Wings 96 game 4. Man I miss those days and everything between then and 2002.
NHL Vault kinda sucks though, doesn't show goal celebrations, doesn't even show the game winning celebration. Kind of kills the buzz when it's like..."SSSCOOOOORR.." and faceoff
