Grigorenko's hands are definitely NHL caliber, just got too fancy when he was going one on one with Miller, didn't realize there was a d-man coming to break it up.
Hey Chain! Was right across from you, front row 217.
Reduced food, beer, gear and free club tickets. . . yes please and thank you.
Looked really good:
Grigorenko
Foligno and Ennis together (Vulcan Mind Meld thing going on)
Hodgson
Miiler
Enroth
Looked Good
Ott
TJ Brennan
Myers
Looked Rusty / Bad
Vanek
Stafford
None of the AHL squad (other than TJ) stood out at all IMO.
It was a good night to invade club-land.
I thought Flynn acquitted himself well, with the goal, a few table-settings and being in the play. Sundher is still overmatched, but the feet are there. Varone didn't get much of a regular shift. Adam had a couple chances, would like to see him gain some confidence again.
I thought Brennan was his usual self -- a bit dangerous offensively for both teams. Or the bubble D, I thought he, Pardy, and Weber were all about even -- not necessarily good, but all similar, with perhaps a slight edge to Pardy. McNabb continues to struggle.
Leino got razzed for losing the puck in the shootout, but I thought he was one of the more creative/dangerous players out there for White. He found Grigorenko and Ott both with nice feeds more than once and that line had a little jump on the forecheck. FES did what FES does -- transition offense and chances off the rush, with one blown d-zone coverage where Ennis walked the line and generated something. VHP had chances -- too cute and TV is already in mid-season form when it comes to his heavenward eye roll.

Just watching the highlights, it looked like Leino made a lot of nice plays, the shootout attempt was pretty brutal though.
I hope he plays well this season, I feel bad for him.

I would..but seeing him out partying all the time while having a stinker of a season left a bad taste in my mouth. I know these guys are young and rich, but cmon!

Leino did what he does well. Controlled the pick and made room for the other guys. I thought he did well. Ott was chippy and strong on the puck. Grigs was as advertised, but got pushed off the puck a few times. Gotta grow into that frame eventually though. I kept thinking he must have hit Millers car in the parking lot because Miller would not let him through. Makings of a good line.
Agreed that other than Brennan none if the kids stood out. Brennan made a few boneheaded plays but I liked his game at the end of the night.
Hodgson looked really good tonight I thought. Dangerous in the offensive zone, responsible in the neutral and defensive zone. Really liked his game.
F-E-S picked right up where they left off. Great shifts tonight.
Sulzer and Ehrhoff were good together, and found each other on the power play more than once.
This was fun. Met some of you! Overall everyone seemed at least a little rusty, but they should dust it off soon. Pardy and Grigs were getting testy late.
