So is it a guarantee that Silf will be in our top six on opening day?

About a 98% chance. Take it to the bank.

Schedule is out. Looks like none of the games against the Leafs are on the second half of a back to back this year.

I'm pretty sure BMurr or Mac said he was going top 6 and it was his to lose...

Or something to that effect...

Not a surprise but now pretty much confirmed:

According to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, the Canadiens have told Gomez he will not be a part of the team this season.

Well now that Gomez is being bought out, I have no idea who will replace him in my fantasy lineup...

I'm glad the opener starts at 3pm rather than the rumoured 1:30pm. I'm off right at 3 that day so I'll sprint home to try and catch puck drop. I've clocked myself at an average of 8 minutes door to door from work to home... I might make it.

Season opener usually starts later with all the player introductions and what not so you have some time.

More waivers today, including Hugh Jessiman, Tyler Eckford and Nathan Lawson.

Are these essentially on-paper waivers so the players can continue to be on the B-Sens?

Sportsnet review of the Atlantic Division has Bobby Butler as the big addition for NJ. Do the Devils pencil in Butler at Parise's old spot on the top line? I hope he regains his scoring touch.

That's probably more a reflection of the fact that NJ didn't pick up anybody of significance more than Sportsnet thinking that Butler's a meaningful acquisition.

Butler has been streaky on NJ's farm team, but when hes on, hes a goal scoring machine. He had 2 goals against us as well I believe. If he added anything to his game besides a good shot, he would be a good top 6'er

This was exactly what he did in Bingo too. I agree, if he had more to his game he might be worth something, but as-is, I can't see him being in anyone's long-term plans.

I liked the guy, but at the end of the day, some guys are just more suited for AHL hockey. High end guys in the AHL whose games don't transition well to the NHL.
See: Aucoin, Keith

I'm not rooting against Butler. I'm just not holding my breath.

Norris trophy winner can't even crack the top ten. That's harsh yo.

Spezza should have been in the top 15-20 imo.

I'm pretty sure neither were on the list last year.

The Ottawa Senators have always been criminally underrated by the Toronto Sports Network.

Pang had Karlsson at 26....apparently he has only had one good year
