Really?

That's why you think Benn > Yakupov?

By your logic, Ryan Jones > Evgeni Kuznetsov

If you're going to say Benn > Yakupov, at least give some respectable reasons why.

Benn is better then Yakupov right now so his value is higher. Proven talent > unproven talent. Maybe in 3-5 years Yakupov will be better... but not today.

Thats true but then it would require that the Habs make another deal somewhere. They simply have no one that can replace Subban unless Markov is healthy and can play like his old self (which is a long shot right now)

I'm sure within 3 years Yak will be the better player... There hasn't been a 1st overall bust since erik johnson, and most of those guys are in a talent pool of their own.

Bergevin would have to scour the market and try to trade one of Desharnais/Eller or Plekanec for a suitable replacement if he was goign to trade Subban for Benn.

Damn that's a good offer. Would pull the trigger if Marchand was in on it too.

I hope Yak will be better too, I hope he becomes the best player in the league(hopefully Kovalchuk 2.0) the sky is the limit for the kid. But there are no guarantees in pro sports. The fact of the matter is that Jamie Benn fits and Oiler's need more then Yakupov does and it would greatly improve our team and balance it out. Furthermore C is one the most important positions in hockey aside from the goalie. Look at the teams that have made the finals and won the cup in the last couple of years.... Kopitar/Richards, Bergeron/Krejci, Toews/Bolland, Crosby/Malkin, Datsyuk/Zetterberg.

Hartikainen-RNH-Eberle
Hall-Benn-Hemsky

Looks pretty good especially if you can package some picks prospects for a more proven #2 LW.

All I'm reading is that a lot teams want a young, rising star. Not exactly news.

Interesting I feel like their value is pretty similar other than the positions they play.

Love Kulikov, but you'd have to swap Shore for someone to get us to consider this. Kulikov + Bjugstad would prolly get me to say yes (which is rare for me), but I doubt Panthers' fans like that.

Value of Jamie Benn? $5.75 million per year on a 6 year deal which he'll get from the Dallas Stars.

Jugs is going nowhere, that deal is more than enough for Benn.

If Benn and GMJN can't come to terms..

Kesler for Benn?

Gives the Nucks some physicality down the middle, Stars replace Benn with a #1C on a good contract.

Am aware, but that's what it'd take. Huge fan of Bjugstad and Kulikov both.

No, unless you'll add Jensen+. Not a fan of Kesler and he's a pretty obvious downgrade.

Not sure how it's an obvious downgrade.. Benn may hold more value but this type of deal would be contingent upon Benn not coming to terms. IMO Benn is better offensively, Kesler is better defensively and his contract status/terms would hold value to the Stars management.

I have to admit, I haven't really seen much of Benn. I just watched a few yt vids and he is unreal.

He is just absolutely relentless with his puck pursuit. Man oh man. Tough as nails too.
