My guess, the groundbreaking deal of Montreal sending Brendon Nash to Florida for Jason DeSantis. Mainly because the deal already basically happened as they were swapped between AHL teams this week. Now, it may not actually go down, but I figure it's a decent guess.
Wasn't Brendan Nash considered a good prospect by the Canadiens fans?
He looked pretty good a couple of years ago, even played a couple of games for the Habs and looked okay. But he missed the entire season last year due to injury and from what I've read hasn't looked great with the Dogs this year.
I guess they saw something they liked better in DeSantis since they're both around the same age.

Yeah, when we first signed him and he got a cup of coffee with the team, it seemed like he had a future. Hasn't really gone anywhere since then, though. I guess the new Habs' brass have had a look and written him off, so whatever deal they could get that addressed a need in Hamilton (for a player with a bit more puck-moving ability in DeSantis) was enough. Just drop the contract, pick up somebody as a band-aid in Hamilton, even if the player they got is not a prospect.
I think most Habs fans would say we still had a teensy bit of hope for Nash and wouldn't like this deal. But he's going on 26 now, and hasn't made the cut, so it's probably verrrrry faint hope.
They are maybe filling holes on their AHL teams. They want to do well in that league to. You know some players are in that league knowing they won't play in NHL.

ok. i will understand that, if it will be goalie for D, or forward for D... But you take here one player and give away the same one.
