I am critical as hell of movies that contradict themselves by going against the characters and reality they have established, but this adhered to the wacky universe it lived within.
Ya, they definitely did stick to the insanity well enough.

My favourite current version of Sherlock Holmes (there are like three going simultaneously) is on the BBC's Sherlock. Very good show, even though there have only been 6 episodes of 90 minutes each.

Last I saw they'll start shooting the 3rd season of this in March. I'd much rather re-watch the BBC version than watch a 3rd Sherlock RDJr film. Of course, I'd just do both, since they're not mutually exclusive.

I'm a big Sherlock Holmes fan, and HATE the Robert Downey Jr movies. I should say hate the first half hour of the first one, at which point I turned it off in disgust. Surprised (and a bit ashamed of) myself that I actually like Elementary on CBS. The BBC shows with Jeremy Brett are, of course, the standard.

Benedict Cumberbatch is excellent as Sherlock, and if you don't love Martin Freeman as Watson we can't be friends.

I'm looking forward to the third season for sure. I've actually never seen Elementary, I didn't think it would be any good.

OK, so I just listened to the leak of the new Coheed and Cambria album...

Fantastic. It totally restored my faith in the band.

I've only seen a bit of the new BBC Sherlock but it did look pretty good. But Brett and Edward Hardwicke will always be the definitive Holmes and Watson for me.

Elementary is good for what it is, a network drama. It's essentially just another crime procedural with the Holmes angle.

I want to see it, but haven't yet. I might also go this weekend if I can convince a friend to go with me.

I've heard nothing but fantastic things about it. Hurt Locker director working on it can only help. She did a great job with the suspense/mind **** factor in that movie and I gotta think this one will play that up too.

The most pleasant thing for me about Bigelow is that she`s Cameron`s ex-wife and she`s beating him like a dog with her movies.

Keep getting GGs and Oscars, Kathryn.

Almost finished with Marty's book. He mentions in the book that one reporter was completely out of line and unprofessional back in '03 when his marital problems came to surface. I wonder who it was?

Probably one of the NY Post guys. Gossip is one of the sustaining foundations of their paper, they can't help it.

Workaholics returns tonight! LET'S GET WEIRD

Didn't get into the show until last year. Their commercials/promos always seemed painfully unfunny, but I got hooked when I stumbled on a random episode.

It's definitely an offbeat brand of humour, but I see the merit in it.

Looks like Pacino is going to play Joe Paterno in a film about him

Quote:
Director Brian De Palma will helm a film about disgraced football coach Joe Paterno, and he and producer Edward R. Pressman say they can’t think of a better man to play Paterno than Pacino. As of now, the film has a working title of “Happy Valley” but is in very early stages.
