You can have Matthew Lombardi for a 4th and 6th round pick.

That means our offseason speculation might come true. I'd welcome Lombo back with open arms

Would you be prepared to part with something that actually helps the Leafs? I.e. a defenceman?

Taking him for a 7th is helping us out.

More so just to open a roster spot for a kid.

Could probably send you a lower end pick and get that trade done. Or you guys can ice him on your fourth line as some of your other fans on this forum say.

If anything, we'll give you Nick Ross for him. lol

In vacuum, that trade can be made.

Bruins have 6 NHL ready defensemen. Realistically, bumping Andrew Ference out of our top 4 right now.

Bruins top 9 suffers. Even if Seguin is moved to center, we are still out a top 6 forward, which means we have a 3rd line forward on our second line.

Good starting point, but would need to be a packaged deal, but I don't see it being a fit anymore.

I'm hoping Lombardi is the trade that is "no longer available".

Pray that he's improved his conditioning. He was a liability on the ice every time he was out there with Toronto

He never said it wasn't available, just said that it may not be there anymore. Still could very much happen.

Odds are that you get a better player than we saw last year. NOBODY expected him to come back, especially as early as he did. There's a log-jam up front for the Leafs and Lombardi does seem like the odd man out

Either way, I'm still against bringing Lombardi back. The few times I did watch him play last year he seemed a bit lost, or a step behind the play. At least compared to what I was used to seeing out of him in a coyotes uni.

Honestly I kinda want to see lombardi play a bit this year, have a feeling he might have a come back year. He rushed his return last year and obviously wasn't ready

There's actual interest in Lombardi? I'd do it for future considerations.

Lombardi? I hope there are other options and would prefer the Coyotes wait and see if one becomes available. Doubt that it was Lombardi. Bozak would have made more sense. Now RO'R for Gormley + would make my day even though it would kill my Iginla to AZ dream...

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/coyo...ns-return.html

Maloney fielding and making calls for offensive help. Our beat writer says that Yandle could be in play, but only for top offense. Other than Yandle, our offensive help will most likely come via our plethora on defense, and defensive prospects.

We will most likely not trade any of our offensive players unless it's in a package...and according to out beat writer, our untouchables on defense are Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Zybnek Michalek. Morris, Klesla, Schlemko, Rundblad, and our two non likely trade candidates barring a deal not to be refused, Gormley and Yandle, are open for discussion.
Apologize in advance I won't have chance to go through all these posts til later, wanted to throw out the following prop now:

If the Rangers can get enough cap space, would love to see Yandle here. Stepan fits 2C to a 't'. May need to see if third team would consider taking Redden as short term cap dump to add more cushion for this and follow up trades.

How about something like:

original w/error
Redden + Rangers 2015 3rd to Toronto
for
Christian Thomas (son of former Leaf great Steve Thomas) + Leafs 5th in 2013

corrected:
Redden + Rangers 2015 3rd to Toronto + Christian Thomas (son of former Leaf great Steve Thomas)
for
Leafs 5th in 2013

short analysis
Leafs have enough $$ and seem to have enough space, which Rangers need; seems a win win if the compensation is fair for 1 full season next year and a shortened season 2013
---------

Stepan + Yogan + Calle Anderson + one other prospect we can agree on + Rangers 2nd in 2014
for
Yandle + coyotes 5th in 2013

short analysis
I believe JT Miller works now for NY, espec. if he hooks up w/speedier linemates Hagelin, Kreider, Callahan. Still extremely thin at C, but believe this can be done. Adding Yandle creates huge options + depth to the roster. Could help NY not run out of gas end of playoffs. However, first and foremost, we need to change from Torts system as to too many blocked shots to really stop this problem, and that means more offense to keep more puck possession in the offensive zone.

For Phoenix, Maloney gets Stepan who's goal scoring may not be clear, but his puck distribution, etc., is extremely high.
Yogan is tall, strong, 4th rounder if I remember, has track record of scoring, would probably bend over backwards for chance to advance now.
Anderson is a bit away, but is a quality D to replenish 'yotes' D depth.
extra prospect, pick upgrade no explanation nec.

I think both T.O. and the Coyotes say no to those proposals fairly quickly.

The Leafs don't need Redden and can use that money much better somewhere else next year and Phoenix would be looking for a better return.

if phoenix wants lobardi they can have him for a bag of pucks and a second hand net, we would even drive him to the airport and give him $100 spending money for his stay there.
