That makes sense. Gonna miss his hustle and versatility.

Hannan is a better defenseman than Bouillon, on the whole.

I would imagine Josi and Ellis will get their fair share of PP time.

Is anyone else surprised that Josi appears to be sticking with #59? It's such an odd number. I guess #90 is odd for a defenseman as well, but at least that's what he wore in Switzerland.

Not liking Hannan - Klein, but I guess there is time for Blum to earn his spot. I just don't see those two being able to move the puck effectively enough to play heavy minutes against top lines.

I just wonder if we get First yr Blum, back? What would the pairings look like?

Yeah I was kind of expecting a lower no. 5 maybe? Ellis is now wearing 4 right?

I would imagine if Blum goes back to his rookie season form he will take his spot back with Klein, and then Hannan is the 7th Dman or traded for a pick.

Weber-Josi
Klein-Blum
Gill-Ellis
Hannan-Bartley

I could see a trade. yes the depth could use some help but if Fistric can get a 3rd what would Hannan get in this draft? Nashville could use a 2nd.

Depends on the trading partner, I guess. May have to add a pick to Hannan to get a second, or maybe a team will be desperate.

In a shortened season with teams playing 4 in 5 nights, depth dmen will get bumps and bruises, they could be quite valuable come trade deadline. That's assuming we don't have a similar problem. A 2nd is a stretch but not impossible to fathom.

Pretty good read. I know the lines "are in pencil" as Trotz said, but some interesting choices. The second PP unit was pretty intriguing to me as Ellis / Kostitsyn / Wilson / Legwand / Smith. I don't think the Wilson / Gaustad / Halischuk comes to fruition as the article mentions; Goose is a solid 4th line center with great PK game and big faceoff pulls, but his 5 on 5 offense is mediocre at best and I think he would stifle Wilson's game. Full lines from today's skate:

Erat / Fisher / Kostitsyn
Smith / Legwand / Hornqvist
Wilson / Gaustad / Halischuk
McGrattan / Spaling / Yip / Mueller

Weber / Josi
Klein / Hannan
Ellis / Gill

Power play:
Weber / Josi / Erat / Fisher / Hornqvist
Ellis / Kostitsyn / Wilson / Legwand / Smith

4.5 forwards, with Ellis there. I assume SK is the other point, and an Ellis-SK D pairing tells me that we are going to give up some shorthanded goals.

Most likely, but unless I'm crazy, I remember SK playing point several times last year and doing pretty well. I actually think they are two pretty strong PP units given what we have to work with.

When will Bourque be back and whose spot will he take? I would hope McGrattan's.

two to three weeks, at last reaport, and yes, he will bump McGrattan to the bench (if he's not already there and Mueller is playing)

the question is going to be what line he lands on

When SK was playing in London SK was the lone point with 4 forwards so he has experience

The @PredsNHL have claimed Rich Clune off waivers from LA. Working on getting him here for practice on Wed. He's a hard working energy guy.
I saw that OurGoc originally posted this on the Trades board. Kings fans say that he's a hard working agitator, but is undersized and injured often. An overall...meh.

Not sure where Clune fits after Bourque is healthy

Erat / Fisher / Kostitsyn
Smith / Legwand / Hornqvist
Wilson / Gaustad / Bourque
Halischuk / Spaling / Yip

Clune
Mueller
McGrattan

Hopefully he outperforms Yip at camp, I don't think he's working out

I think Clune could be a short term replacement for Bourque as a 14th forward, IF he wins a spot over Mueller. IF

I know people are talking about Yip going but I can't get Colin WIlson's tweet out of my head....

Yip looks good, he looks like Bobby Orr-iental!

hopefully he's better than Pevs was, here. People groan at losing Peverley on waivers, but it was for a reason. He was terrible here.
