Wait, what? Does Redden get 100% of this year and 2/3 of next year, or 100% of both? Also, how about bought out contracts later on?

Excellent, so the Rangers can use an amnesty this season on Redden?
Apparently use the Amnesty buyout now and still have one left for 2013 or 2014 (after season). In that case - very good. Really means nothing for us. We take the cap hit and move on
So then Sather signs Gomez for $1,5M this year???
I actually see Gomez going to NJD, Dallas or Chicago and Redden to Detroit, Edmonton or Philly.
The NHL and the players' association have reached an agreement to allow teams an accelerated compliance buyout on players such as Montreal's center Scott Gomez and defenseman Wade Redden of the New York Rangers, a source confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com.
Those buyouts, which can be used by any of the NHL's 30 teams, will carry the full cap charge for the remainder of the 2013 season. The hit will then come off the cap this summer and the buyout will revert to two-thirds spread out for the remaining years.
So, in Redden's case, the Rangers will pay him 100 percent in salary owed for this year while incurring his full cap hit minus the money, approximately $900,000, saved by assigning him to the AHL's Connecticut Whale.
