Rangers, sorry to say.

At least on paper.

Rangers. We can't let them grow a lead on us in the standings as time goes on. We have to best them everytime we play and hope for the best for us.

Rangers are more balanced then the Flyers. They will be our biggest threat for a couple of years

My friend (Leafs fan) picked the Rangers to win it all. That's a good thing because the Leafs know nothing about winning.

Rags

Top to bottom it's a such solid lineup. Great defense and goaltending. They'll be at or near the top of the division when the season ends.

The Islanders surprise everyone and send autographed pictures of the cup to Visnovsky.

If the Islanders were a better more competitive team then this division would be incredibly tough.

Rangers may likely win the division. Flyers will give us the most trouble though.

As several have said, on paper.

We went 4-2 against the Rangers last year, and held them to the least amount of goals of any team against us in the division. On the ice we looked even better against them than the record showed.

Long and short of it was that although I was not 'hoping' per se for any team, as that bites you in the ass more often than not, deep down I would not have been unhappy had we met the Rangers in the playoffs last year. Just like the Devils had our numbers all those years when we had a vastly better record, we seem to match up well with the Rangers.

In fact the Devils got my vote, the only one up there. They just always seem to have our number. If games were played on paper or by computer simulation I might vote differently.

Anyone else notice the grammar mistake in the title?

Despite that, it's the Rangers. They will be the hardest team to get past in the East. The Devils and Flyers could give us some problems during the regular season, but the Rangers will be between us and the SCFs this year.

On paper before a puck has ever been dropped... Rangers. After some games have elapsed. Let's say 8-10 in this shortened season lets revisit this and see how their lineup clicks. But it looks solid top to bottom. But you never know until a puck drops.

I agree, but to me it looks like they got a little older/slower.

Pretty much the division, sans the Islanders. You could make a case for any team really...

Devils: 0-6 against them during the 2009-10 season.
Flyers: They currently possess the book on how to beat the Pens.
Rangers: The best team in the division on paper.
Islanders: Games against them used to be gimmes. Not so much anymore.

Rags for beating us in the standings, flyers for beating us in the playoffs.

Rags. They have power and balance.

But here's the thing...we have Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. Whenever you have those two on a team, you have a chance to win.

Rangers have a solid defense, heck of a goaltender and just 1 line offensively...they don't scare me as much as a Wild card team like Philly.

Threat to the Pens? The Flyers.

Threat to get the most points? The Rangers.

I think Lundqvist is the best and most consistent goalie in the league and he stays healthy as well. Crazy that the Devils beat them last season but that's how it goes.

Pens own the Devils
Devils own the Rangers
Rangers own the Flyers
Flyers own the Pens

This shortened season may throw it all out of whack but I think the Rangers are the team to beat.

I know the Rangers are media darlings but IMO no way, though I really like their team. It's the Flyers for me. Skilled, big, incredibly well-rounded. They're more or less Boston with a shaky goalie pretty much. Shaky doesn't mean bad though. Bryz could easily have a solid year and look out.

And honestly, when have the Rangers ever been a problem for us post-lockout? Pretty much never. Obviously their team keeps getting better and I'm actually a Nash fan, I just think the Flyers are better.
