No way someone doesn't give him a shot at 1/$1M.

Scott Gomez was one of the best to bring the puck in the offensive zone.

The problem, is when he enters it, he doesnt know what to do with it. And most of the time he lost it.

He's fast, strong on his skate and a good player to have in the locker room (never made problem, is a joker). He can play on the PK. But cannot do a lot in the O'Zone.

I think it can be a good depth player for 1M$ and less if you have a big and speedy team. If you have a slow and small team, dont touch him.

He can play on a 3rd-4th line with 2nd vague PK tmie. And help you on the PP if you have injuries.

Hes not completely useless, he knows the game and won a cup. The problem is that in Montreal, he was getting 7,3M$ and the pressure was too much for him. He cant be your 1st-2nd line center.

Scott Gomez is still a NHL caliber player and I wouldn't mind having him on my team, especially with the injury to Henrique and the lack of forward depth the Devils have ATM.

I would love for the Devils to give him a 1-2 year - 2-4 million deal to Center Elias. If he doesn't work just buy him out over the summer and Henrique can center Elias when he comes back.

I wouldn't mind if the Flames gave him a chance we are so weak at center, it would be a low risk high reward signing. I would probably offer 1 year 1.5 million.

Potentially hilarious situation: Gomez gets amnesty bought-out, there's a bidding war for him on the UFA market, another team offers him a somewhat hefty contract to win him over the rest, he plays like crap, gets amnestied again...?

With David Booth out for 4-6 weeks, Canucks are going to be banking hard for Gomez if he's available.

I doubt he'll play for money. At least for such money. Nobody will give him more than 2M. And I bet he'll prefer a team where he feels himself more comfortable. So he can play at his maximum level.

At what price are you willing to take Scott Gomez in your team?

So now that Gomez will be UFA before Saturday, is Gomez could be interesting for you team?

I feel like 1 GM gonna give him a chance to play on the 3rd or 4th line and be a good veteran in the chamber. Gomez is a guy who was always appreciated by his teammates. I think that's a + for him. He has good speed and can carry the puck from his zone to the other. The problem is that he always lose 1v1 battle in the corner and he makes really bad turnover.

So are willing to take a chance or Gomez is done?

The Blues don't even have room for all the forwards we have now. Our odd-man out is Matt D'Agostini, and he is much better than Gomez.

I wouldn't mind seeing him on my team, but the most I would pay is $7 million per.

So he will get 7M this season from the Habs and maybe 1-2M from another team.

Gomez can not get amnestied twice. Amnesty is for existing contracts when the CBA was signed.

Yup, he will actually get more this season by sucking hard the last two than he would have got if he was decent. Gomez is a genius who planned it all

Habs don't owe him 7 million, they owe him 5.5

Maybe a mid season injury replacement signing at a million bucks pro-rated for the remainder of the season.

It might be his only chance to audition for a training camp contract.

I doubt anyone is going to sign him to a multi year deal.
