As for OB, I just can't listen. 1290 ran a commercial mocking them a few months back, with the sound of some old toothless man calling in and complaining about the good old days, when a dollar only cost a nickel. hilarious.
It still is running ... we are very lucky to have the in depth radio coverage we do .... so glad that pompous clone Jim Rome is not on much and during prime hours , he just is almost all about him . Big Show , Rona Roundtable , Hustler are much much better ... and they pay attention to the NFL as well as the by far best Jet and NHL coverage .

Second that. Can't stand Beyak. As for the after show, I don't mind the host, the callers make it unlistenable.

speaking of Dennis Beyak, does anybody know who's going to be the colour guy on TSN - Jets this year? Brian Engblom? or Mike Johnson? Shane Hnidy?

also, anybody sign up for TSN-Jets through Shaw yet - can it be done online or do you have to call them (and be on hold for half an hour)?

I can't remember what I did last year. Can't you just order with your remote?

I heard Rick talking about this board today on the show. I like all the puns, especially the ones I get a couple seconds later (".... Ahhh HA!") and certainly love 1290 over CJOB and their 35 minutes of commercials every hour. Kelly Moore is a real pro but I'm locked on 1290.

I just tried online and get 'required province parameter is empty' even though I select Manitoba. Tried 3 times.

What did he actually say about the boards, though?

I turn it up. That guy is hilarious. Most of the post game show is an audio car crash I can't turn away from.

Yeah, Gregory is very entertaining. So intense, and you're never really sure if he's going to go over the edge.

The post game show is a fantastic collection of interviews, insight, and art bell show callers that is perfect entertainment.

basically just described what happened in this thread and noted that message boards are a thing (one of many apparently ) that he doesn't "get."

Boy, volume issues are rampant on 1290. The levels are all over the place...can hardly hear RR right now but if you turn it up you get blown away when the breaks come on.

Rick Ralph and the Rona Round Table folks (incl. Munz, Beyak) are all good.

I just can't stand those Illegal Curve guys. They sound like a bunch of high school kids bickering (not talking ) about hockey as they play NHL13. LOL

I find the IC guys pretty annoying to listen to. They talk all over each other too much.

I like The Big Show the best myself...

Yah not to big of a fan of the IC guys. The big Show, HnL, and the Rona Roundatable were all good in my books.

I actually like Lawless on the radio...when he's not interviewing people. Lawles, being a radio opinion commenter is fine. I think he's smarter then we might give him credit for as he's openly admitted to not believing some of the stuff he says and just stirring the pot.

As long as he stays to op-ed and brand himself as such, i like him. I do not like him as a "trusted source" or "analytical" perspective on sports, or as an interviewer.

Very apt description re illegal curve. They really have no place on a professional radio station. Once 1290 got jets rights they should have axed amateur hour.
