Scoring goals in the second division counts as goals by a pro, first official goal in the Elitserien you mean.

Only played 11 minutes.

So in 1 week he went from 15 to 11 minutes. This is not good.

Should the Habs consider signing him to an ELC next year so that he can play for Hamilton?

The history of 19 year old Europeans playing in the AHL is not good. I say no.

It's either Frolunda if Ronnberg is coaching there or the CHL.

I really don't see Collberg playing in the CHL. I'm not saying if it would be a bad thing to improve his 5 on 5 play but I don't see it happening.

Is he drafted in the CHL?

He isn't. But if he wanted to come over, he'd get claimed in the import draft without a doubt.

And Ronnberg in Frolunda next year is official:

Szymon Szemberg ‏@Sz1909_Szemberg
Official: SWE nat jr team coach Roger Rönnberg signs with Frölunda Gothenburg of SWE Elite League for 2013-14.

He actually scored his first pro goal with Frölunda during the 2011 European Trophy, and his first goal as a senior in 2010 with Mariestad in Division 1.

Well his TOI today suffered from skewed line changes, all game long his line had trouble getting on the ice at the same time. He was playing with Brunnström and P.J. Axelsson, and Brunnström and Collberg got on the ice often 30 seconds or more after Axelsson (Brunnström only got 9 minutes or so).

Also I wish you guys had heard the crowd when Collberg was announced as the shooter, he's a real fan favourite despite the lack of production in the SEL.

Is there a particular reason for that?

I'd go with the CHL for me. As much as Ronnberg likes him, Ronnberg will have to win and play the guys that indeed produce. Will Collberg suddenly produces because Ronnberg is there? Possibly, based on confidence and all. Yet, the guy needs to get his scoring back on track. And he'll do it in the CHL. I hope that's the route he takes. I predict it won't be based on the fact that Ronnberg comes in.

Don't forget next year he will be one year older and one year more physically developed...yes the CHL has certain advantages, he showed in the WJC he is a top tier player within his age category but could still improve his 5 on 5 play, but the CHL won't answer the question on if he can do this against adults, and I doubt he wants to move overseas just to play against children if Frolunda promise him a role (even if it's not as a first liner)

No need for the CHL to answer that question. The CHL will answer his questions about his overall play. He will be the go-to-guy in the CHL.

I mean, it's all great to dominate in the SEL. Obviously much better than to dominate in the CHL. Yet, not playing in the SEL will not help.

I just played NHL 13 with some dude from Sweden, he said he was a huge Frolunda fan and he expressed the same sentiment I've read on here the kid is just not getting put in a position to succeed, coaches havent trusted him.

Seems like Frolunda fans love the kid, I know the few Swedes I'm friends with who aren't Frolunda fans but casually follow their country's top prospects are all Collberg fans, so the good news to everyone looking at the stats and wondering what the hype is about, it's not just us.

We have 4 years to sign him now so I say leave him in the SEL for at least one more year and see how things go. Most good players to come out of the SEL have had at least some success there. It's a good league for development. It's not like he's going to be a 4th liner there forever...he's bound to get a bigger role.

Most of the arguments for getting him out of Sweden apply to this year.
Regardless of who is the coach, he will be more experienced and likely stronger
next year. Perhaps the ideal thing would have been CHL this year, and SEL
under Ronnenberg next year. But, of course, this wasn't an option. If he can
win decent ice-time for the rest of this season, it's unlikely that he gains by
playing in the CHL next year. But a stronger, older Collberg, in junior next year?

Really? I thought that the 4 year rule would only apply to players drafted in the new CBA....

IMO Collberg has great skill, but lacks hockey sense. I think that at this point, Bozon is the better prospect, particularly for Galchenyuk's wing.

You never know, but I wouldn't bet on that one.
