To back up Dubnyk, would be my guess. Khabibulin is still dealing with an injury and is gone next year when his contract is up. The Oilers also don't have anyone remotely ready to step into the NHL any time soon.

This is exactly what I was thinking and as far as Yann goes this year he has not been very good.
I think Danis could be ok as a backup to a more proven starter, but an upgrade would definitely be welcomed. I'm not counting on Khabibulin doing much in his final games as an Oiler.
I would do a 2nd for Bishop personally. A 2nd this year gets you a better player at the draft than it did last year imo. This draft looks like it has solid players well into the 2nd, so I guess that is buy low sell high.
Maybe I would wait until camp is over, so if Lehner beats Bish out for backup duties, Bishop would become expendable. He served his purpose last year keeping the Sens above water when Andy cut his hand, but he deserves a back up spot in the NHL somewhere. Hes proven himself a great AHL goalie already.
Its a minor deal, but it helps both teams imo. It also shows respect to Ben because hes the odd man out here most likely, so we would be giving him a better opportunity. Being known as a respectable franchise has value in itself.
Danis and Roy looked burtal yesterday and Bunz hasn't been the best in the ECHL. I'd trade a 3rd, maybe a 2nd, no more for Bishop, Oilers right now are fairly weak with D-men in the AHL and need to keep everyone they have.
I got to see alot of Bishop in Peoria and always walked away impressed. I'd certainly be willing to give what it takes to get him back in Illinois. Sounds like some Ottawa fans would like a young dman with top 4 upside and others saying they need to keep him for organizational depth. How about something along the lines of?:
Bishop isn't worth a potentially high first. A low first, maybe, but we can't guarantee a low first round pick.
Lehner would get us a first, Bishop`s value hasn't gone down since the Sens acquired him.
A 2nd in a deep draft is more than fair.
For the Sens I would not mind adding to get either Gagner or Hemsky. So we can trade a forward in return of a defenseman.
