Although not scheduled for public riding until 2027, the new train has been unveiled. Speed up to 311 mph.

Maglevs are amazing.

With all the money alberta has from oil, I wish they'd build one of these from edmonton to calgary. Getting from edmonton to calgary in 35 minutes would be amazing. I wonder if it is at all feasable.

Looking at the article, the distances between the two japanese cities is very similar to edmonton and calgary, and they might be tunneling through mountains, which would balloon the cost quite a bit.
