Yes. Its the same as subscribign to gamecentre online. Local blackouts are in effect, and I believe all nationally televised games are also blacked out.

GCL is a subscription service. Any device that lets you download a compatible app it will work on as long as you have an account to login with. Now the xbox has an GCL app available. The apps themselves usually cost around $10 and that is additional to the subscription fees you signed up for.

Hopefully its better then the PS3 app. Most nights I just ended up watching it on my PC because the ps3 couldnt keep a consistent bitrate making the picture quality automatically downgrade and upgrade in the middle of the game causing a few second delays every so often. Would cause it to skip a few seconds of the game and I occasionally missed big plays. Got extremely annoying. Had no option to manually set quality preferences. Also made games last about 10 minutes longer then their actual end time. Bad app overall. Have more faith in Microsoft though. Worked great on PC (Chrome web browser).

Yeah, just like NBA League Pass Broadband is the equivalent of NHL GameCenter Ice. For MLB, Extra Innings on TV and MLB.TV online. NFL has Sunday Ticket. Not sure if they have an online service, though.

The NBA Gametime app for Xbox Live is pretty nice. I've been watching NBA highlights almost daily from that. I definitely wouldn't mind having an NHL equivalent.

Don't know about PS3
You can. If it's gamecentre. If it is, and it's like the one for the ps3 then it will suck ass.
However it seems that xBox gets better work done for them, so it might work.

The MLB.tv app is much better on PS3 than it is on Xbox. Hopefully not the case with the NHL.

No kidding. Why would I give money to a company that provides a product I enjoy. Canada Post was on on a work stoppage a few years back. Since then I counterfeit stamps. Why would I give them money. Air Canada was on strike. Since then I stowaway on flights rather than paying. Heinz strike? Steal ketchup. Ford Strike? Hijack cars.

Its really the only way these companies will learn to give their employees whatever they want so my personal life won't be disrupted.

I looked for the app today on my kids Xbox but didn't find it. I'm guessing it hasn't launched yet because of the lockout? I really need to get this going since the season is getting ready to start.

If anyone has any info regarding this & would share I'd greatly appreciate it. Unfortunately I have AT&T U Verse & they don't offer anything NHL related. They even cancelled their contract with the NHL Network.

Will this be like Center Ice, and only show games from out of the region? I don't have cable, I live in Vancouver - will I be able to watch Canucks games, or will they be blacked out?

It's exactly like Center Ice, so if it is blacked out on CI, it is blacked out on GCL.

XBOX App still not out there

I searched last night after signing up for NHL Game Center Live. I have the MLB app for XBOX and it rocks. Watched a TON of games last season on it. Anyone find the NHL app let me know please. I'll try again tonight as well.

I don't think this is the case, I believe it's just a gamecenter live app that allows you to use your account and easily stream to your TV instead of watching from your computer/hooking computer to TV etc.

If anyone has found it on the xboxlive marketplace or any news regarding this please let everyone know. I'm debating on center ice or GCL. I would rather have GCL personally but since they are the same price (I think) I might flip a coin unless the xbox app is in time.

Does this let you watch replays of old games like MLB.TV does?

In case any Nordic Xbox owners haven't found out yet, this most likely won't come to our regions or at least you can't watch live games. You'll have to use the Viaplay app(and buy the whole tv, movie and sports package for ~20€ a month).
