Well, at least we'll have Garrison/Edler to look forward to on Saturday. They're gonna have to do A LOT of defending.

We are really going to need sedins to carry us for the first month and half of the season.

You know....we laugh at our second line, but who the hell is on Anaheim's second line?

Selanne and two nobodies. I'm 90% sure Koivu is hanging them up.

I don't know if you've noticed, but aside from Booth and the twins, the entire team is made up of defensively responsible forwards, so.....

Even the twins are defensive because they play a puck possession game. Are we actually just looking for things to ***** about now?

I know we have a team full of good defenders. We don't have many players that can generate much offense aside from the twins, and with Kesler/Booth being out (you know, 2/3 of our second line), it's going to get much tougher to score.

That's all I meant.

I'm predicting a 2-1 one. It's going to be a close one, but I think being at home will help the boys win their first game.

Selanne with either Peter Holland or Nick Bonino. then you have Bobby Ryan on the left side. maybe Kyle Palmieri

either way, even there AHL players like Holland are better than ours

God bless TSN, they just straight up aren't up late enough to watch most of our games. I mean, we don't have great defensive depth but it's not poor either.

Otherwise known as at least 75% of Vancouverites. We tend to have a fairly prominent spread of insecurity issues for whatever reason.

4-2 Canucks.

Raymond with 2 goals (1 empty netter)
Schroeder and Kassian with an assist each
1G for Daniel and 1 for Burrows

Someone gets injured (bad feeling about our goaltending situation )

If you're actually curious, the second line is Ryan-Bonino-Selanne. Koivu is centering the 3rd line.

Not as a lineup staple. I'm sure they'll see time together off and on. For now, Palmieri is on the top line.

Guys...this is our year. No one expects it this year. Our season already looks bleak to start with injuries. This is the year all our **** luck finally gets paid back all at once. It starts Saturday.

So now it's the PPG line.

I've been thinking more about our current lineup, and think we can squeak out wins to stay in the playoff picture. This is the year we pull an LA, get Kesler and Booth back at the right time, get a good top six winger that compliments them in a return for Luongo and win the Cup or at least go deep.

The lineup we ice right now, we can play trap hockey because we have so many good defensive forwards. Out defense is solid, and hearing how good Garrison has looked with Edler in the practices, I'm even more confident. Two solid goalies right now too. We'll be in a lot of 2-1, 1-0 games I think.

That's right! An homage to when Penner's fatness patrolled the left side for those guys. Here's hoping this incarnation is just as successful.

I actually like those units. It'll be interesting to see how AV rolls the lines, especially with Schroeder and Kassian in the picture.
