Jerzy does have quite a temper. Yelled at the umpire (and someone in the crowd) a couple of times earlier in the set and once previously in the tiebreak. Gets a set point at *9-8 after coming back from a two minibreak deficit at 5-2 Devvarman, at which point a slightly mis-hit forehand from Devvarman lands near the sideline for a winner. Janowicz was convinced it was out from the trajectory but there's no challenge system on Court 8. He screams "HOW MANY TIMES!?" repeatedly and gets a code violation when he confronts the umpire. Ultimately Devvarman takes the tiebreak 12-10. Certainly not a high level of tennis from him that first set (not uncharacteristically), but hopefully he can pick it up now.

Was just coming to post about the tiebreak, was laughing when he was on the ground yelling .

34 unforced errors from Janowicz, 8 from Devvarman. Explains the scoreline.

Not unsurprising numbers. Jerzy is a bipolar player. Has faced plenty of break chances and long deuce games and pretty much only survived on the big serve, forehand putaway combo.

Looks like Nishikori is finally starting to take control of the match against Berlocq. Kei has won 13 of the last 15 points.

Good win for Almagro in straight sets over Gimeno-Traver. Both had 5 set first round matches and Almagro typically has trouble with Gimeno-Traver.

Janowicz is really letting Devvarman stick around in this set...

... and now Devvarman breaks to love

Baker takes the first set 7-2 in the tiebreak over Querrey. Some classy stuff from what I saw. Baker returning as well as ever.

That is just pathetic. Janowicz manages to lose a set he should have been in control in by a double break

Interested to see if Bautista Agut can knock off Melzer today after his impressive run in Chennai.

Ugh terrible break for Brian Baker after winning the first set, looks like his knee gave out.

He has to retire from the match, brutal.

A real shame indeed. Did he just say "I can't feel my leg"? No luck at all this guy.

Watching the Janowicz match again and I still can't tell who the people in the crowd are chanting for. Pretty sure a couple of them just cheered a footfault call though. Jerzy now up 4-0.

So many injuries already, and relatively old for a tennis player. One has to have some doubt at least that we'll see him on the main tour again if it's as bad as it looked.

Yea, that would be a tough hill to climb, the only positive is I believe he could use a protected ranking if he is out a long time, instead of starting completely over in futures/challengers when he first came back from retirement.

Janowicz just hit a stab volley which landed on Devvarman's side of the court and bounced back on his own. Confirmation - if any was needed - that he has indeed found his game these last two sets.

Huge return by Janowicz to take the 4th set. Devvarman now getting treatment on his left wrist.

David Ferrer might be on the practice courts longer than he will be out there for this match vs Smyczek.

Jerzy gets tight serving for the match. Had been so dominant for so long up to that point. Now calls the trainer himself. Looks like it's his right hand - maybe blisters?

Well-deserved, if unnecessarily tight win for Janowicz. Total domination returning serve. Hopefully he'll bring that kind of form against Almagro.

Was not trying to jinx you Ferrer. Can't believe Smyczek just took a set from him after watching that first set.

Fantastic come back from Heather Watson against Perkav. I think that's about as far as the British women get though. Robson has Kvitova next and Watson has Radwanska. Will be very tough for both of them to get through.

Just seen that Venus Williams is up against Sharapova in the third round. Big one that.

Murray should get through to the Quarters or at least, expect to. Where I think he'll get Juan Martin del Potro.

Looks like Kuznetsov got creamed by Anderson. I tried to stay up for it but the Watson/Pervak match lasted for bloody ever. At least, it doesn't seem like I missed much.

A bizarre decision indeed. You'd think both players would have a certain appeal for what they've done recently. This is why I root for all Australians to lose as early as possible regardless of how I otherwise feel about them. It's a travesty that guys like Duckworth and Ebden get televised courts over much better players and much better matches.
