Wikstrand has so far scored 1 goal in todays game. Soon 2 periods left.

For those who are interested in stream with horrible quality; (wearing #6) http://wiismo.blogspot.se/2010/07/wiismo-tv.html

Thanks, for the update and stream. Swedes are always welcome on this forum, especially when you bring gifts.

Vikstrand just beat the record for most goals scored by a junior-defenseman in one season in Allsvenskan. With his second goal of the night he's netted a total of eleven.

What are your projections for him as a pro in North America? Think he can be a top 4 two way D?

We trying to trade for a defense man when we have a top-pairing NHL ready defender in Vikstrand. Someone call this guy up now for an emergency basis. WHERE'S CROSBY?

FQL, Pronman says he definitely sees top 4 potential in Vikstrand.

Is that discounting the shootout winners he has?

I read that awhile back. Very encouraging, and from what I saw from the WJC it doesn't seem farfetched. Its amazing what the scouting staff has managed to find in later rounds with Claesson, Boro, Wikstrand, Hoffman, Stone and Dzingel. I expect most of those guys to at least make the NHL one day. Some of them will even be useful

I agree, even with 3rd rounders like Zack Smith who's had a huge impact on this team. Pageau looking like a real good one too.

It's amazing to think we got Wikstrand with the 7th round pick last year.

Dreider is a 3rd rounder that's looking like the best goalie in the WHL. Brassard not doing too bad as well.

Is the previous record of 10 inc SOG?? Cause Wikstrand has at least 2, maybe even 3 or 4

He has 3 SOG, they count to the statistics. The last one were a beauty though. Imma try to find it, but it's pretty well hidden.

Would anyone be able to confirm if shoot-out goals counting was a recent change?

Because if it has always been this way, a record beaten is still a record beaten. The original record he bested could have had shootout goals counted as well.

Junior Defenceman in the shootout is not something typical I would think.
He is leading the league in game winning shootout goals with his 3.
And he is second in the league in GWG with 5.

Yes, since the shootout started they've always been counting towards the goal totals in IIHF hockey. Also negatively against the goalie, which is even worse.
