I've got to say I was very, very impressed watching Kadri's interview after todays skate, and the way he handled himself. He seems a lot more mature, a lot more relaxed. In the past, he talked about his high skill and basically how he thought he should be on the team from the get go.
Seems to me, he's okay with the idea of rounding out his game and doing whatever it is he needs to do to become a better player, whether it's with the Leafs or the Marlies. I think he understands now that the Leafs expect a lot out of him and have high hopes, whether it's now or in the future. It sounds like he's becoming a pro.
You then clarified that he has only produced more points. I agree.
But I disagree that means Kadri has produced more than Frattin. Because based on my viewing, one is a two-way complete forward with offence and one is a soft, one-zone forward with offence.
It's a common mistake to make just looking at point totals to draw conclusions. Coaches look at other things.
That's why Frattin played more NHL last season than in Kadri's entire career so far.
Kadri has higher potential, has out performed Frattin in the NHL and the AHL, potential to be a very good top 6 player, and three years younger. But leafs fans want Frattin instead because he has more muscles and is a bit more physical? lol wow

No, but in this case it does. Frattin can be a solid third line player in the NHL, that is nothing hard to come by. Kadri has the potential to be an above average top 6 player with world class play making skills. Tell me who makes more sense?

If Kadri is like a 30% chance to be a 2nd line player or bust
and
Frattin is like a 80% chance to be a bottom six player and a 20% chance to be a 2nd line player

I take Frattin.
All day.
Every day.
Where do you get these numbers from? He has a 30% chance to be a second line player or bust according to who? By all accounts he looks like hes ready to make in an impact for the leafs, according to his coaches and you know others that watch him constantly. Frattin is a 25 year old player who most likely will be a constant third liner and if hes lucky a second liner. Again, Kadri has out performed Frattin constantly according to the stats.
There's no way Randy keeps a guy who's going to be basically a shootout specialist he can't trust 5 on 5. The Leafs aren't so hurting on offense that they need to waste a roster spot on a guy like Kadri. He'll start in the minors and get a look when injuries make it necessary. Of course he could make the team if only to retain some illusion of having value in trade if Nonis has something on the front burner. Frattin is a guy who has size, likes to bang around and he has a damn good shot. That's a lot more valuable than a guy who can stickhandle a bit, and maybe draw the odd penalty with a dive.

Stats mean nothing.
Kadri has been ready to make an impact for years.
Hasn't even come close to happening.
No indication it's anywhere close.
He's going to get himself hurt in the NHL playing at that size.
Frattin will make it because he's got a better two-way game is a more clearly defined player in the NHL.
Kadri on the other hand - what sort of player is he? What role does he fit on this team? He's not making it. There are too many people fighting it out for the 3rd ling winger position, as the top 2 lines are pretty much set in stone. Kadri doesn't fit in with this roster, and that's why I've just about wrote him off as a Leaf

Hes 22, sure took a while longer but nothing wrong with that. Lot's of players need a little more time to develop. "No indication its anywhere close"? Really now cause the head coach of TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS and coach of the TORONTO MARLIES, both have stated that he is ready to be a nhl player. Your right, I shouldn't listen to the coach of the NHL club and farm team, but listen to a random guy on a hockey forum instead. I take it your completely oblivious to what they have said lately no? And Frattins 1 goal in 20 games is good enough for you haha

Yes you should listen to me because I am not a Leafs or Marlies coach who isn't looking to destroy the kids confidence.
I am an internet poster who doesn't have any bias towards this prospect.
The Leafs basically need to just write him off, give him a new team to play for, because it's obvious he can't play defence and isn't fast or strong enough to play in the NHL and that means we should trade him before other teams start picking up on this alarming fact.

Cool story bro, I think your tin foil is on a little tight tonight. Don't listen to the coaches and people who spend the most time with him, but listen to a random poster who "sees the truth".
