Good move, Puhis.

The commissioners are myself and Puhis. So feel free to PM either of us if you want to stay hidden, for whatever reason.

And I will say that if you are someone new to the board and only registered so you can play fantasy hockey, I am sorry, but you will have to forfeit your spot to Sharppi, who is a board regular. There are plenty of other public leagues and I am more than happy to help you find one if you need it.

Okay, the commissioners of the league have discussed this matter behind closed doors on great length, and have come to a following decision:

Quote:
Since team gris actually belongs to an user bear1, who has been a member since March 2011 and because it no longer says anywhere that you must identify yourself upon registration* (though common sense applies here, too), the board of commissioners will allow the team to compete normally.

However, since member Sharppi expressed his interest very early on towards competing in this league, and because he has made a sufficient attempt to register a team but has been unable to do so, we will modify the league rules to allow him to participate. Therefore we have decided to raise the maximum amount of participants from 16 to 18. Should this be a problem to any existing member of the league, they can discuss the matters with the right fist of yours truly.

To summarize, both bear1 and Sharppi are allowed to enter the league, and there is one (1) free slot available which needs to be filled before Friday, January 17th, 3:00 PM CT. This final spot is awarded to a member who expresses interest to the position and successfully registers a team and posts his teams name on this thread. In other words, we continue to operate on so-called "first come, first serve" -basis.

We would like to remind all members of this league to VOTE on the poll in this thread. It's very important that every has a say on the way the league's scoring is handled.

We are also looking for one more commissioner, please apply by PM to the board of commissioners (yes, to both of us) and explain why you should be chosen. Please also list your previous history as a commissioner or a moderator, should you have any.

The board of commissioners would like to wish all players good luck to the upcoming season!

*Probably my bad, I'm quite sure I have mentioned it previously though.

So, yeah, bear and Sharppi are both in. Looking for 1 MORE GM AND 1 MORE COMMISSIONER!

Pfft, naaw. It'll make the middle rounds more interesting and certainly the latter rounds, when people not only have a chance but are actually forced to take gambles.

Joke's on you, I always check it from the league page to make sure I get it correct.

I'm disappointed that nobody went with North Scars or Fighting Stains.

A friendly reminder: We're still looking for a volunteer to take up an open commissioner position. While I have great trust in tyratoku, I think we'd be better off having 3 rather than 2 people. It would also improve decision-making and discussing any changes or trade approvals. With 3 people, we could go with a simple vote. An odd number mean we'll always get a decision.

18 teams with two goalies a piece. Hope there's 36 starting goalies on 30 teams this year.

What was reasoning to having 18 teams vs. 16? Could we possibly break it up to two leagues of 9 - QUICKLY?

Shouldn't it be an even number?

18 teams is fine imo.

Two leagues of 10 would be cool if there's more interest. Would allow us expanded rosters and benches as well. That's what we are thinking about doing if we can get a couple more people for fantasy football next year.

If there is, I suggest a random draw for league placement.

I don't think it HAS to be an even number. If there is playoffs it just means there is an odd number of teams that don't make it, or the top seed gets a bye.

Even though my opinion is, well my opinion and nothing else, I would prefer to have two leagues because along with the goalie situation that would come up, same would happen if the one or two studs on your team go down for a week then your whole season is over since you will have nobody to replace to cover some of those points. Thus making it more difficult to come back from deficit.
