Losing out on Forren to Southampton is really not a big deal. Considering it's the Norwegian offseason there's no way he can be match fit. It's also the trial aspect of the deal that scuppered it, Liverpool wanted to test his fitness, Molde got a concrete offer for him, away he went.
M'Vila and Remy to QPR would be huge and would not only help QPR get out of relegation , but so stay in the PL for a couple of years if everything goes to plan ed
Well now, that's interesting, thank you for the correction. I mean, that timing always made more sense. Guardiola, for example, obviously always was a name that was interesting to some of our front office, and I know that Sammer is all but in love with him, and for guys like him you may not be able to wait until March. It would be good to have some clarity earlier on and not have it as a distraction as games start becoming more important by the week.
Lucas Piazon is being loaned out to Malaga until the end of the season according to Sky Sports. Hopefully he gets more first team experience, maybe even some CL games.
Chelsea are also linked to Iago Aspas from Celta Vigo. Can anyone give a quick scouting report?
Evilo, have you heard anything of the rumor that Schalke might be going after Michel Bastos? It gets reported here that he might be available for 5-7m euros, which I find surprisingly cheap (granted I don't know much about him)
Events with Remy suggest that the club is open to bringing players in, albeit within the usual economic parameters. I'm not surprised that NUFC refused to make Remy the best-paid player at the club, given the question marks surrounding his condition.
What irritates me is that the club appears unduly focussed on French-based targets. NUFC has long been hopeless at recruiting Scandinavians and eastern Europeans, yet players from those areas should settle seamlessly in north east England and might prove easier to satisfy financially than players from Ligue 1.

I don't know the price but I do know they really want to get rid of his salary.
C'mon Arsčne, just sign M'Vila already. We need a stud like M'Vila in the middle despite having Arteta... and his value is at a all time low atm.
I love Arteta but he isn't getting any younger and we can't count on Diaby since he get's injured every other game. Coquelin isn't a bad player and so is Frimpong but M'Vila is just on another level all together.
My wish list would be M'Vila and a solid CB to go alongside Vermaelen cause Mertesacker and Koscielny aren't starting material if you actually want to contend for the title, as proven last week when he tackled Dzeko in the box, wich basically killed any legit shot of us getting at least a point against Manchester City.

Vermaelen hasn't been a bastion of consistancy either. Seems like they each go through periods where they are really good (Verm two years ago, Kos last year, Mert has his solid patches) but you just can't count on them and there doesn't seem to be any sense of a rock solid partnership between any two of the three. Mert is by far the least mistake prone and is great positionally but he's so damn slow and doesn't use his size to his advantage. Verm thinks he is a midfielder. Kos is the best imo when playing well but he makes really bad mistakes and can't handle physical forwards.
I'd spring for Mbiwa myself...hits the sweet spot in terms of age/experience, has good intangibles, good with the ball but better in defense than TV and versatile.
Mbiwa and Diame and I'll be happy. Don't think AW wants M'Vila at this point.
