Forsberg's contract is up with MODO this season. My guess is that he'll get offers to stay in Sweden, but the Jackets should try to bring him over. Forsberg worked with the Jackets' goalie coach, Ian Clark, when he was coming up through MODO's junior system, so they have a relationship and it would be easier for Clark to work with him in Springfield than in Sweden.
A season in the Eliteserien as the starting goalie wouldn't be a bad idea for any goalie's development. But, I think the Jackets need to push to get him over here and adjusting to NA hockey. He'll only be 20 when the season starts.
The new CBA allows for teams to retain European prospects for 4 years after they've been drafted instead of the 2 before having to sign them. I hope they grandfather it in because Forsberg might very well get lost in the shuffle and not signed.

Considering how well Forsberg has been doing, I doubt he's going to get lost in the shuffle. Korpisalo and Dansk are nowhere near ready, York isn't exactly setting the AHL on fire. Forsberg is now leading Allsvenskan with a 93.38% save percentage.

Might not hurt to let him start in the AHL for a few seasons until we decide who the true #1 is between mase and Bob.

Some Swedes would prefer the SEL over the AHL, so if he has to spend several seasons of full-time AHL duty, maybe he stays in Sweden another season. It might also depend on the offers: starting in Springfield vs starting in Allsvenskan vs a back-up role in the SEL.
If either Bob or Mason can establish themselves as a bonafide #1 goalie, then there's more time for Forsberg to develop.
If both Bob and Mason crash and burn this season, then there's going need to be changes made and there's an opportunity for Forsberg. He might be more willing to come over if there's the chance he's going to play in the NHL.
Zaar hadn't been getting much playing time for Rögle, who was promoted to the Elite League last season and are battling to stay in (Martin Gerber has playing very well for them)
I find it funny that the CBJ get bashed for their treatment of young players, when it's common in the Swedish leagues to use junior age players as reserves and have them as an extra forward who plays 2-3 minutes a game.
Rögle's U20 teams didn't make the top 10 teams, so they're playing the lower tier teams in the SuperElit and won their last game 11-1 with a lot of their top players sitting out (in Sweden, there's actually some concern about fairness.)
So it's good that Zaar will have a chance to get consistent ice time.
It sounds like Zaar could return for the relation/promotion tournment for the Elite League (bottom teams in the SEL, top teams in Allsvenskan), which could mean Rögle vs Karlskoga.

In the KHL every team must dress at least 2 players under 20 years old iirc. For example today one 19 y.o. guy played 36 seconds for Avangard.
Anton Forsberg... dancing... with his fellow goalie Sebastian Idoff after a win. (Forsberg has the white mask on)
I really want to see Mason and Bob do this.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
Hey, are Savard or Tynan expected to make the roster this year?
Also, if they don't, how far out are they from making the NHL? Looking at getting my keeper league prospects in a better spot from where they were. Are they expected to make it before the 2014-15 season?

Savard made the roster, but will probably go back and forth between the AHL and NHL again this season.
Tynan is in his junior year at ND. I don't see any reason to believe he won't go back next year, he doesn't seem ready to go pro yet to me.
Kind of a cool thing I thought I should mention here. I'm in a Fantasy Hockey league this year with Oscar Dansk and his teammate Spencer Abraham. Oscar asked on twitter earlier today if anyone had a league he could join and my league happened to be drafting tonight still needing more teams. Oscar joined up with Spencer and we had the draft tonight.

Their team name you ask? "Dansk like Abraham"
Mine is "Tyutin in the Staal"
Ask Oscar how his head is doing. He got a concussion a few days ago
Gianluca Curcuruto had a goal and an assist today for the Plymouth Whalers. This kid has been very soild this year for the Whalers, he has a nice shot from the point even if his stats don't show it the kid is very soild D man.

Should be a good start. Then check out the CBJ Prospect thread and the Springfield Falcon thread in the sticky section of this board for updates as to how guys are doing.

Welcome to the board.

Why doesn't there seem to be alot of talk of this Jonathon Audy-Marchessault guy? he sounds like he scores alot
If our top 2 lines don't get their act together, don't be surprised to see him get a call up. He's going to be the first call up in case of injury on the forwards.
how long does it normally take for a good NHL prospect to develop?
Usually depends on the prospect. Some are ready right from the moment they are drafted. Some (typically defenseman and goalies) take a long time to develop (3+ years) and others usually hit the NHL by their lower 20's.
