Keep Niskanen and make it a 2nd round pick

the same can be said about almost everyone here on HFBoards, including you. no need to get personal.

i would personally like MacArthur, but not at the price of Niskanen. he was one of the most, if not the most, consistent d-men the Pens had last season. they should take notes from him and his play.

2nd+3rd or just 2nd?

honestly, i'd probably like either of those offers for the Pens.

62 pts and on pace to go oveer 50, this is 1st rd material. Leafs were not making the playoffs last year, they had a chance to deal from a position of strength, Clark Mccarthur doesnt make or break a roster

I bet you're just coveted amongst NHL-teams, right? Teams are knocking behind your door to get your scouting expertise?

Pen's Fan here

MacArthur is a player I'd want from TOR (probably about the most valuable asset up on the block for TOR)

I'd offer up MAF if you throw in Gustaffson (that will probably be laughed at from both sides), but hey. I think both goaltenders could use a change in scenery.

TOR really needs goaltending help. Pen's have (2) #1s.

Other than that it would be

Dustin Jeffry (almost a ppg AHL player that doesn't get good NHL icetime)
+ D prospect(s).
+ 2nd rounder

Do yourself and everyone else a favor and listen to Bryz.

Huh? Someone attacked me personally and you direct that to me? Why not to the guy I quoted?

I guess you can't say your own opinion in here anymore without being attacked. What's the point of this forum then?

Pass. I would want the Pens to get a better player if they were to trade the assets mentioned in this thread.

I have no issue keeping Mac. Saying he is not worth a 3rd is just ignorant considering he is an upgrade for your wing. Then again if Pittsburgh has proven anything, you can't outscore all your issues. Maybe try getting some defense before you get more offense

I didn't say he isnt' worth a 3rd. I said I wouldn't give that for him. There's a difference. I also wouldn't give a 2nd for Reimer but that doesn't mean I wouldn't think he's worth it.

And yes, the Pens could use an upgrade at D. That's why it makes little sense to move Niskanen away as he was our best D-man not named Letang last year.

Fair enough, I can respect that. I heard this guy named Subban has not signed for some french team. Pens should garnish some interest

Because you just proved my point. You need to just chill out and not get all defensive when people disagree with your opinion.

As for the OP trade seems like a good move for the leafs but I thought the pens were looking for more defensive help rather than another top 6 forward.

an impending free-agent defenseman that they'll want the world for... no thanks.

i'm not sure how saying, in essence, that nobody should ever listen to a thing he posts about the NHL is merely "disagreeing" with his opinion.
