Goals aren't everything cause Sykora would be back with us or already signed by one of the 29 other teams.

Gomez is a 50 pts player that can turn his career around and would cost close to nothing.

Gomez is a 50 point player? I guess 11 is the new 50.

Only time he didn't reach 50 points was with the Devils 2001-2002 (48 pts), MTL 2 years ago (38 pts), and MTL last year (11pts) when he got injured. Guy is easily a NHL player.

Why do we need another center? No. You go to hell and you die!

I'm telling you, 800K for an elite third line center... Allows a lot of center depth in injuries with this short season, and lets Elias move to wing possibly? What's wrong with trying it out?

Nothing at all, and Gomez is a better option for faceoffs too than anybody we got other than Zajac. Josefson probably will be better I think though or as good as Gomez. It's some depth, and if it's cheap I'm fine with it.

I think the reason a lot of people are cool with Gomez is because we know Lou is more prone to bring back guys that used to play there. I don't think anyone thinks Gomez is the best option, but Lou has proved he likes to take on former Devils again, so Gomez screams that.

3rd line center. He'd be one of the best in that role.

Playing on a bad team with 3/4th liners aren't good for your stats?

Sign him up for 800 or less, and he'll be a decent enough third liner. Center him with Barch and Butler.

Even if he only puts up 10 points (.25 PPG) as a 3rd line center, gives us depth, and allows Elias to not have to be a regular center we're looking at a great value.

He's still an NHL player, just not being used well IMHO.

I wouldn't mind giving Gomer a shot, especially with Henrique hurt and Josefen being injury prone. However, he bolted to the Rangers and everyone knew he was signing with them before he hit free agency and that's why I don't see Lou being to eager to sign him.

Couple things: He won't come that cheap, because he'll be offered more than that by another team. He is not elite, not even in that role, and has been declining sharply over the last few years. He carries a lot of baggage, even without the way he departed the team it's still the hoopla about "did Gomez score?" weighing on him. I'd rather avoid the extra sideshow, Kovy brings enough drama already.

I think Gomez would take less to come Jersey. That's if he really wants to come back. He's already getting his humangous beeg buyout money from the Canadiens, so he should be happy with whatever he gets.

Not too mention there are seven guys in that dressing room who were on the team when he left and probably have some issues with him. It's one thing to sign with another team but it's entirely different when that other team is the Rangers.

I doubt it. The only guys left from Gomez's final days are Marty, Patty, Trav, and Greene played a few games that season, and Clarkson did too (And got his number afterwards!)

Marty don't hold grudges, and I doubt Patty, and Trav do. Clarkson, and Greene are both so laid back I bet they could care less either.

With this team, always expect the unexpected. I'm gonna say Gomer comes here for a 1 year deal for $850K.

Now, am I happy with that thought, meh. Especially after the drama he caused when he left here. But...I also feel coming here would rejuvenate him.

Overall, I could care less what happens with him.

Can someone explain to me why his departure from NJ was considered bad or in a bad way? I truly don't remember.
