Mark my words, Peluso is going to be a fan favorite in this town. He is huge kid who is in great athletic shape. Decent hands, keep in mind these bigger guys are usually are late bloomers so I can see why the Jets want to give him a shot.

He has earned a rep in the AHL as a legitimate tough guy.

It will be interesting to see how Peluso fits in.

We've made a huge improvement in team size this year. It's a good thing.

It's also a good thing to have a guy on your team that intimidates other teams just by being on the ice. Peluso will have to prove his toughness at this level - but by the sounds of it nobody at the AHL level wanted a piece of him at the AHL level anymore...

It's all good. I think Chevy knows what he's doing here. Let's see how this one plays out and then judge the acquisition.

Someone that works with Gary Roberts tweeted Peluso to connect with Bogosian in Winnipeg who's another good man on the program. So seems accurate.

Defiantly will have to wait and see how this works out.

TNSE would have had conversations with McCambridge and other AHL contacts, so they obviously know what they are getting, and feel they have a spot for him.

If he can skate decently, hit, bring some energy, fight (duh), and isn't a total liability on the ice, he could be a contributor.

All things being equal, I would rather have a team where you didn't need to have an enforcer riding on your 4th line, especially if the coach doesn't have enough confidence to play him.

But maybe the team really felt that they missed what they were hoping to get out of RR last year? Maybe the team decides to rotate that last 4th line spot between Macho, Peluso, and Mittens depending on the match up? Or is that too many bodies to keep on the roster?

I'll reserve my judgment until I see his beard/moustache.

You can't be a legit enforcer in this league without crazy facial hair.

I remember when Cronin was going through a dry spell aggression-wise and people started calling him, "Cronin the Librarian". Good times.

I wonder if they're looking at platooning at that wing like someone else mentioned, or perhaps just ramping up the competition for that spot on the 4th line (I'm not aware of how Max and Spencer are doing at camp). Either way I say let the kid play and see what happens. That is one BIG boy.

Also this is one short season where injuries are going to be a factor, it might make sense to have a deterrent on the team for when the other guys start taking liberties.

Appears to be only half committed:

Put him back on waivers.

Weak connectors. Couldn't even pull off a handlebar.

Yeah, let's see if Chris Neil is going to mess around with Evander Kane on Saturday with that dude on the bench

The stats guys will probably back me up on this, but there's a strong correlation between fighting skill and eyebrows:

A slightly simian appearance doesn't hurt either...

The moustache thing? Everyone remember how tough Johnny Oduya was? I rest my case...

This years AHL photo,

Fairly neat and well groomed and at a respectable length. Crawls a bit down the neck area, room for possible tidy up for the full grooming effect of a Bro out on the town. Appears to be a bit of a soul patch there, adds to the Bro-effect. Clean around the chin, a nice natural growth there. As Lynk said, there is a weakness in his connectors, so that may be an issue. All in all, this facial hair has some potential. 3 out of 5 stars. No wait, he's sporting a styled Bro-Hawk, 3.5 out of 5. Slap me silly and call me Susan, that is not a bad growth at all.

Yeah, the connectors are definitely holding him back. I've been there bro, stay strong.

He's got potential. Handle bars would be nice, but I prefer the "I just lived on a mountain for 4 years" look more than the biker guy/Hulk Hogan look.

Maybe some big mutton chops, grow the beard out, do something Abe Lincoln style.

I still think Thorburn might be dealt. I also still suspect Toronto. Maybe not a JVR deal, but I know Atlanta's ex GM Rick Dudley was hired by the Leafs and always spoke very highly of Throburn and said he had a lot of untapped potential.

Well, I'm all for having some abrasive players in the lineup, to keep guys honest. Hopefully the kid can play a little. Otherwise, if he's getting 5 mins TOI, I think there's better options.

Any word on whether he'll play forward or defence? Might add some depth on both if he's able to play both at the NHL level.

If he's going to be relied on to keep people honest, I'd rather he be a forward.
