I was simply saying that worst case scenario is things stay the same.

I'm bummed they didn't keep our o-line coach and ST co-ordinator. I didn't expect to be inspired by the positional coach hirings and I'm not. It's really neither here nor there to me. I'm disappointed that we seemed to have clearly downgraded at ST from a guy who has done well for the Bills recently and in the past for a guy who seems to have been middling-to-bad for the Lions. Beyond that, it is what it is: guys familiar with our HC/OC/DC, especially guys they are 'grooming' as their own branch on the great coaching tree. Some of these guys do have experience but by and large, you don't expect a ton of collective experience from these guys.

Let's just get this pesky Super Bowl over with so we can move on to free agency, please.

Bears hire the Montreal Alouettes head coach. Is there much of a history of CFL coaches transitioning to the NFL?

Bud Grant for the Vikings (led them to SB losses) and Marv Levy for the Bills (ditto).

He really wasnt that great of a head coach. If he was someone would have pursued him much earlier. He was a cheap hire that worked out with a talented squad and a smart GM.

Manti Te’o’s Dead Girlfriend, The Most Heartbreaking And Inspirational Story Of The College Football Season, Is A Hoax... off your draft boards? He's certainly off mine.

I agree. Should have kept the O-line coach and special teams coach.

#NotreDame statement says on Dec. 26, coaches informed by Manti Te'o and parents that he was "victim of what appears to be a hoax."
Seems to prove it, at least the aspect that the story was fake.

Not entirely sure what that means, really. I'll have to hear the full story.

Found this:

Notre Dame statement on Manti Te'o story:

On Dec. 26, Notre Dame coaches were informed by Manti Teo and his parents that Manti had been the victim of what appears to be a hoax in which someone using the fictitious name Lennay Kekua apparently ingratiated herself with Manti and then conspired with others to lead him to believe she had tragically died of leukemia. The University immediately initiated an investigation to assist Manti and his family in discovering the motive for and nature of this hoax. While the proper authorities will continue to investigate this troubling matter, this appears to be, at a minimum, a sad and very cruel deception to entertain its perpetrators.

They're claiming it was a hoax, somebody pretended to be that person and starting dating Teo, and then faked their own death. ND claim to have been investigating it for three weeks. This from their media department.

Why the hell would the authorities be investigating this? What possible crime could have been committed?

I'm sure there has to be some fraud element to it, what with the charities that were created and donations made on her behalf.

That's pretty F'd up. This being the case, I see nothing wrong with drafting T'eo, he just got caught with the wrong girl. Could have happened to anybody really athletes being especially vunerable. I feel bad for T'eo.

Ah, I didn't really read all of it or know about any of this beforehand. It'd only be fraud on the part of the hoaxing parties if they themselves solicited donations or worked with such a charity as far as I'm aware, but whether they did or didn't it'd certainly warrant investigation into the matter to see. As far as I know, though, if donations were made and the hoaxing parties didn't solicit or benefit from them, they would have no legal liability.

Please read this, too, before deciding whether Te'o is a victim:

http://deadspin.com/5976517/manti-te...ason-is-a-hoax

If anyone believes Te'o had zero knowledge of this, I have a beautiful bridge joining Manhattan and Brooklyn that I'm looking to sell. I think he's only making it worse for himself, now. He's in too deep. Come clean. You know people are going to want to see a receipt or other evidence of the "white roses" transaction; or the address to which he sent them.

It'll be fun to watch Tuiaisosopo fall on the sword, though.

Yes, if that's how it happened then it's up there with the worst (non-physical, but really just in general) things you can do to a person. The larger the stage the person is on, the worse it is.
