Found out this weekend that ETSU's English department will be publishing one of my poems in its annual literary journal. I don't know if anyone has ever gone on to do anything with writing after getting printed there, but it's pretty cool that they're eager to publish my work.

for the rest of your life, you can tell people/put on your resume that you have been published.
Heck I was published in a college English dept. glossy and had a brief newspaper column... and honestly I had forgotten about it until just now. But congrats to you, WFOM!

This is probably what will happen to me, since I don't plan on making a career of this. But thanks all the same!
On local sports talk here in ATL, they replayed an interview done by 104.5 in Nashville where they were ready to interview some NFL writer about the playoffs.
The dude fell asleep waiting and was snoring on the phone! It was hilarious!!!

...we never did finish watching Goon during the New Year's get-together, did we?
Will have to fix that, I guess.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
Johnson City has been waylaid by snow, already an inch in less than an hour and falling fast. One of my colleagues has already crapped down his leg and gone home, leaving me, the guy who lives on the side of a ****ING MOUNTAIN holding the bag, so now I'm stuck in a valley, with snow falling on a city totally unprepared for it (because this is Tennessee, after all) and probably spending an entire night on ETSU's campus.
