No, it HAS to be an even number. So we'd either bring two new teams in within the next 48 hours, organize another league with another commissioner with the same (?) rules, decide who's going to play in which, make a decision of going with the mess of a single thread VS pissing off the mods and creating two threads (one for each).

Sure, we could run different scoring systems (points vs categories) and determine the league spots on the poll votes. But it'll be a helluva lot of work in a short time span, and to be honest, I rather like having diversity.

36 goalies shouldn't be a problem. Many teams have two competitive goalies to choose from, or you could go for two goalies in early rounds. It's up to you.

Board of Commissioners has discussed the possible split, and will address the issue this evening. Stay tuned.

I am eagerly awaiting the decision. I think two leagues would be fun. Maybe one league could do categories while the other does head to head?

I want in on the categories league.

This with an 8 team league and the other with 10 teams.

So Puhis and I have been talking about what should be done and we've come to the consensus that there are going to be two leagues.

One 8 team league(with a possibility of expansion to 10 if there are two players that want to sign up soon), and one 10 team league.

And we are fairly certain that both leagues are going to be identical to each other. The draft date and time will remain the same on both leagues. That would be January 17th, 3PM Central Standard Time, in order to work best with all of our Finnish buddies. This part if like 99% non-negotiable. We want to keep this easy for everyone.

The rules and scoring systems are going to be the same in both leagues. This way, we can compare leagues to each other at any time and not have to say "Oh, this guy won in the easier league because it had categories! Points are way harder!" or the opposite. We can probably negotiate this if people want, but I think it would work best this way, so that going on to next year, we could possibly make some type of tier system.

Having two separate types of fantasy hockey on the same board would be a bit iffy. I have PM'd GopherState about having two threads on the board about fantasy hockey, and even though I haven't gotten a reply yet I don't think it will be a huge issue. I would just like to keep things unified so if new players come in down the line they can quickly pick up and understand the Wild board rules and not be panicked or confused by two separate leagues with completely different rules and styles.

Puhis is in the process of making a new league and will post the new information as soon as possible.

If anyone has any input we will be more than happy to hear it. We aren't dictators.

HF Wild II.

I do like Avder's suggestion, thought of the same myself. 7 people want Categories, let them have categories.

That being said, it'll be hard to determine an overall winner. I'm thinking a cage fight to death between the leagues #1's, that work for everyone? Good, cage it is.

Oh, and disregard the admin team. I had to create a team in order to create another league. Not sure of how it affects the league. Hmm. I'd want to delete the team, but I can't.

How will we determine who stays in the original league and who switches? I've got no problems switching, but I'd like to know before 2 pm CST tomorrow, because I'll be in class from 2-2:50.

Whoever wants to switch makes the switch

As long as we get 8 in one league and 10 in the other, we're all set.

Same here. Actually prefer the smaller of the two. I love smaller leagues because of the stacked teams and how close everything is from 1-8.

Depends if we run categories or points in the other league. If we run categories, 8 people who support that scoring system will change.

So that would be Avder, bozak911, Generic User, goatvindaloo and you, looking at the poll. Add in tyratoku, who is the commissioner of the #2 league, and we've got 6 people, so we only need two more.

However, if we stay with points, last 8 people to sign up (7+tyratoku) will switch, so that would be the following members:

- Generic User (Hejda's Gonna Hate)
- bozak911 (Swamp Sliders)
- HobeyBroten (Hey Hanrahan!)
- Victorious Secret (Victorious Secret)
- hirawl (Double Yellow Liners)
- bear1 (Gris)
- Sharppi (Camel Toews)
- goatvindaloo (Team Torgo)

But as Jake said, we can also say that whoever wants to switch, switches. But don't join the new league yet, we have to work something out first with Jake.

Clicked the second link and says I can't do anything because I am not in it. Is there a shortcut?

Edit: sorry. Just read the last part of your post.

I will (or tyratoku will) give the link to join the league as soon as it's ready.

We need to create a new #2 league, because I can't exit it without blowing up the league itself so I need tyratoku to make it, hence the wait.

Alright sounds good.

Also, I think having both leagues scored the same way would be beneficial. Sure, points wouldn't exactly compare when one league has fewer players, but it allows for a better comparison between managers.

Here is the new league

http://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/75260

Password is suter or Suter. I cannot remember if I capitalized it or not. I am a terrible commissioner Just try both and you'll get in.

It has the exact same rules and points systems as the first league. Sorry, but the draft is in ~8 hours, so I didn't want to mess with much. Next season we can fuddle with categories? Sorry!

And we can create a new thread for the second league once we get everyone set up. That way this won't get too confusing for everyone. After the draft, so later tonight perhaps?

One. First 7 people to transition over, and make sure you delete your team in HF Wild after you move to HF Wild II get spots. Or we can take two extra people to make it 10 rather than 8.

But we're running out of time. Draft is in 7 hours.
