I think 4-5 mil a year is more fair for him than 6-7 mil a year.
How do you even know he's asking for 6-7 Million per season? Just media speculation IMO.

fine by us. we don't need your scraps or your 'big' names. the Habs were in the playoffs four years in a row until last years massive fluke.

we could tank for years too, you know. but fans don't accept that ******** here. we want results.

Subban should be signing a two year deal worth 9.75 million to prove his maturity and worth.

Couts + Schenn - HUGEEEEEEEEE difference buddy.

Holmgren would give Couts for Weber in a heartbeat and would likely give them a ton more assets just out of the goodness of his heart. (Kidding about the last bit...)

If I was the oilers, I would do yaku for subban in a heart beat.

The defense would automatically be good enough for the playoffs.

Your "headcase" accusation is unfounded; moreover you have no idea what he's asking for. Goodness gracious, why even bother saying things like this? You know very well that Subban is worth 10x what either of those players would ever fetch.

Not a Subban fan by anymeans but at the end of the day, he is more valuable to the Habs than he would be on any other team. Markov still has a foggy aura around his bill of health and P.K has been their #1 d-man for a while now. Also Price would be pretty heartbroken if they split up the bromance.

Yakupov being more valuable than Subban? On what planet do you guys live when he will accomplish something in the nhl than maybe will he be consider more valuable.

By these standards Galchenyuk is more valuable than Pietrangelo because he is a top 3 pick posting smiler numbers to yakupov in the juniors. GTFO Subban is a proven 1st pairing dman Yakupov is a 1st overall pick he might just be another Daigle as far as we know.

HfBoard the place were unproven prospects have more value than rising stars.

I'm not saying he won't be more valuable someday but right now Subban's value is a lot better than Yakupov.

23 years old Two way 1st pairing dman don't come along often in the league and their value is huge.

I highly doubt that. I think all 4 showed more promise at yakupov's age

The Oilers should trade away the guy they just signed for 7 years and put an A on his jersey?

How about no.

the hall who gets injured all the time? the hall that will probably top out at 70-80 points of he can ever get through a whole season? yakupov is a faster Hall with better shot. he has more hockey sense in a toenail clipping than hall has in his whole body. hall's got plenty of will and skill, hockey sense not so much. time will tell. soon enough everyone will see what yakupov brings.

i dont want to trade any of them but would trade hall before yakupov.

This does not make sense. Please don't compare Subban with Pietrangelo. Please.

After each win Price would just look at his glove hand and tear up a little, if Subban was gone.

I think is a fair deal for Subban. Whether the Canadiens want it or not is debatable but the value is fair.
Wait... are you saying PK + 1st + 2nd? Or..?

On the other hand, if the Habs trade Subban for futures this season, there won't be many wins to celebrate

Can't see the Oilers being interested, asking price would be too high.

I have no doubt he will sign, just a matter of when, Hopefully for Habs fans it's not a few weeks into the year, because a slow start could be a big hit in a shortened season.

There is no doubt trading Subban would immediately weaken our D. If he was dealt for a Benn, I don't see losses piling up. There are other defenceman that can be obtained with our surplus centermen, prospects and picks. If it were for Dumba and Coyle, then yeah will be taking one step back for a long term greater good. One with Seth Jones in mind maybe.

If thats how your management thinks, say goodbye to Subban, they don't deserve him.
