Well either the girl is ****ed up and perpetuated an elaborate hoax for over a year and a twenty-year old got the wool pulled over his eyes, or he is really ****ed up and perpetuated an elbaborate hoax for over a year. I don't know if there's any way to establish he wasn't complicit either way.
I am super disappointed there isn't a "Which NHL player is most likely make up an imaginary girlfriend and thn kie about her death" thread on the main board.n
This is an incredible story. Just how far this whole thing goes, all of the stories/reports/additional turns it takes. Add in the press conference and how ridiculous it gets each step of the way. This is riveting. Lance Armstrong who? This makes for some fun news.
The more that comes out, the more it implicates him as blatantly lying about some aspect of it all. How much, or if its all of it, remains to be seen I guess. Really think though its in his best interests to come clean about whatever he is lying about than to keep it dragging on further and further (much like Lance Armstrong's case, oddly enough). Although maybe that depends on quite how far the lies go...
I watched about twenty minutes of it and am already sick of it. I rarely watch ESPN but had to see more info on the story. Still confused about the whole thing. So sketchy.
Maybe he was just embarrassed and wanted to make it seem like he knew her? It's doubtful, but who knows. This whole story is bizzare
Theirs no record of the accident happening even the pictures of the girl he just stole them from somewhere. Teo is ****ed in the head. I love how the last thing she said to him was " Go out and play football" or what ever lol. The cover up story is honestly just terrible lol

I don't believe for a second that the girl actually existed, I'm just saying it is possible he was deceived. Not likely, but possible
This is the most bizarre story I have ever heard of
This is the theory I most believe. It makes a lot of sense given the info that's out there. From a devout Mormon family, goes to a very religiously based college. Two things that would make him feel he wouldn't be accepted necessarily. Big time football player at the school so he would obviously have a lot of options for real girlfriends right there at school. Probably pressure from his teammates in that regard too. Easiest way to justify denying it is to have a girlfriend from somewhere else. The farther away she is, the easier it is to justify. And the online component of it all justifies why she isn't there/no one has met her.
Maybe this isn't the case at all. But it fits pretty well. I hope this is the outcome actually. I wouldn't exactly be happy with the true result being that he got scammed, and I wouldn't be happy that he made all of this up for no real reason other than fake sympathy. I'm more understanding if he made it up to cover that he is gay and that the lie just got too big and he didn't know how to handle it (which is why he would then spin it that she died to get the whole thing over with). It's totally fine if he is gay, and I think he'll be more accepted for admitting it sooner rather than later, given how much coverage this is getting and how ugly it gets with each detail. If that's not the case, then obviously there's nothing to admit. But if it is, I wish it would come out soon to save everyone the trouble.
Wahhh, we moved to a conference far away for the money and we don't like the travel. Boo ****ing hoo.
That's just how it's gonna be now with how much college football $$$ runs everything. The ACC sure as hell wasn't gonna take WVU (especially with how little Virginia Tech and Penn State want to do with us anymore). All about dat money, for better or worse. The lack of a Backyard Brawl this year was strange feeling.
It's gonna take some time to adjust to flying hundreds of miles to every damn road game for all of our Big XII teams (it hurts the fans and us band members too, we had to forgo a conference game road trip for last season and likely this up coming season).

WVU & Pitt need to work out a deal to play once per season (if they already have not?).
I would hope the new coach at PSU will be open to playing WVU again since it was Paterno who nixed that rivalry once WVU became strong and were no longer an annual patsy for them.
