mottau and scott are not that big a deal. mottau though we could use his presence for depth right now.

hamilton's our captain, and i've become quite the fan of his from following the marlies. also like you said he could be a decent 4th line call-up if we need him.

aucoin is a great veteran for a forward corps, and one of the most succesful AHLers in recent memory. gaining him was fantastic seeing as we are Calder Cup contenders. Losing him would really hurt. Plus he'd be an arguably even better call-up in a pinch than Hamilton and more suited for 3rd line roles. Hell, he played with Ovechkin for a bit last year when the Caps needed him. 11 pts in 27 games in the NHL isn't too bad for a journeyman.

TL;DR I'm a Marlies fan as much as a Leafs fan.

Sens need a depth defensive D man. Can Lilja still play 10-12 minutes in a limited role?

Anaheim will put Patrick Maroon, Nate Guenin and Jeff Deslauriers on waivers tomorrow.

Didn't the Ducks just waive Maroon and Guenin on Sunday though? Why would they need to go back on waivers again?

Also, does this mean the Ducks' backup goalie job has been won and not by Deslauriers? I'm not familiar with Fasth but did he win it?

Never was much of a battle to begin with, according to our staff. Fasth was penciled in there. He's currently getting some playing time with Norfolk, but he'll be the back-up, indeed.

Personally, I'd like to see the Leafs claim Boucher... it'd be a real low risk play, and he was awesome in Philly.

I actually thought the Leafs should have given Carolina a call about trading for him after he was sent back to Philadelphia. If he was available I don't see why the Leafs didn't make a move for him. They could end up claiming him, which could have been what they wanted to do all along as it wouldn't cost them anything.

I think they should take a hard look at him. If they need a steady veteran backup, which Boucher is, he can be had for nothing and he's really cheap and isn't signed next year. Gives Scrivens more time with the Marlies and could be a good presence for Reimer.

The Islanders beat writter tweeted "Also, I'd expect #Isles to keep mining the waiver wire, perhaps for an extra forward. Only have 13 healthy now, including R. Strome."

Redden needed to be waived before he could be bought out. Thats just part of the process. The others were probably up for camp without much fanfare, and now that the week is nearing an end, being sent back down to their AHL clubs

I see that Carolina put Nodl and Sutter on waivers. Wouldn't be surprised to see either of them claimed by the Isles. Nodl is an NHL calibur player.

Was just thinking of him a little earlier. Did quite well with the Lightning last season after they picked him up didn't he?

Leland Irving on waivers? I thought he was a decent prospect.

H. Karlsson getting waived is a bit surprising too. Who is Calgary's backup?
