At least based on WJC. I haven't been to the Habs camp, but it's not a good thing to rush prospects even when they are too good for the OHL. Fowler lost a lot of his confidence and assertiveness when Doan took him out after his first goal just as a quick example.
Depends on the prospect. I wouldn't have believed you if you told me that Skinner or Burmistrov would spend any time in the NHL in 2010-2011, and at the same time I was shocked it took Pietrangelo several years to crack St. Louis. Players just respond to pressure differently, and I feel like Galchenyuk doesn't belong in the OHL any more

Conacher, actually he will most likely stick for the whole season

Id heard they werent impressed because hes been laying back on his checks in practice. Id be surprised if he doesnt make it, theyd be dumb not to keep him up, hes ready.

Won't be Strome and Reinhart. The NYI just sent them back to Junior.

Dumba looks to be staying in MIN according to Russo.

I'd say Matteau gets a look.

I think Galchenyuk is the best bet to stick with his club throughout the season.

I don't think Conacher is on an ELC, so the 5-game rule has no relevancy to him

Jenner cut by CBJ, sent back to Oshawa. That surprises me.

Rutherford says Murphy will return to Kitchener soon. Looks like most NHL teams are returning the juniors quickly.

Judging by Therrien's interview yesterday (and Montreal's track record) I doubt he sticks. Not only are they very patient with their kids, but Therrien was asked directly and his answers basically said he'll be coming back to junior.

He was using phrases like:
"We have to be very careful not to rush him" and "If he's going to stick he has to play a lot of minutes" and "He looks good for his age." There was more, but it all pointed to him not getting more than the 5 games.

He was one of our cuts today.

Richards quote: "Boone had showed that he could play here. But...you have to be smart making those decisions." Intention "is to get Boone playing...and get him up to his maximum level as soon as possible."

Dumba is likely just staying up to sit in the press box until Scandella and/or Brodin are healthy. Which should be late next weekish. May not even see a game.

From the Sharks it looks like:
Irwin, Petrecki, Tennyson, Stalock/Sateri and if he gets healthy you could see Acelotse (broken jaw). Really depends on injuries, but those are the guys staying up right now (minus the goalies).

Yeah and keeping Burmistrov up has proven to be nothing but a bad idea.

No, they kept him here to play him and that's what they're gonna do. Probably not every night, but he'll take Prosser's spot in at least a couple games.

Agree to disagree. Fletcher has been quoted by Russo that Falk and Prosser are going to get their shot to prove they belong in the lineup.

And in today's paper he is quoted as saying

Quote:
GM Chuck Fletcher said. "We'd be comfortable having him play games, but ultimately the best course is probably for him to go back to Red Deer
We are up against the contract threshold, and he doesn't count against it until he PLAYS his 6th game. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a game or two, but he won't be a regular and is mostly still here as insurance.

Holmgren all but confirmed that Laughton (2012 1st rd.) will make the team to start.

Don't know if he'll get more than 5 games.

Grigorenko named to Buffalo's final 23-man roster, and given a real locker.

Rickard Rakell was confirmed to Anaheim's roster today. Congrats to him, though I don't think he'll stay past the 5 game tryout.

Laughton and Rakell are both kinda surprising to me. Good all around players but are they ready to make an impact in the NHL?

We'll see.

The Flyers are really, really high on Laughton. People in the organization just don't have enough good things to say about him.

I doubt he stays longer than the 5 games, but if he impresses you never know...

Anaheim seems to be really high on Rakell. I don't expect him to stay beyond the 5 games, but I definitely think there is a chance. The Ducks really seem to like what they see in him, and personally, I think his game should translate well to the NHL level. He seems to play a disciplined two-way game, with some still untapped offensive potential. If the Ducks send him down, I suspect it will be because they feel he isn't physically ready just yet.
