Yes, GrigsAndGirgs linked this on the main board... but if I may ask Jame:

Did you compile any advanced stats for Sulzer when this was going on? I'm not sure where you got the CORSI's and everything. I'm curious to see if it differs from my eyeball analysis and general take on his play which most people seemed to think was a lot better than I felt it was. Having him and Regehr and Leo (and Weber and Brennan) in the lineup day-in and day-out worries me a bit.

the problem is separating his Vancouver games from Buffalo games.... I don't think you can.

Thanks for all the fish Andrej.

And that badass game you had against Philly a few years ago.

I'm glad you posted this. Major props to you, Jame.

Yeah, Sekera wasn't a flashy guy where you notice every little thing he does but in terms of stats and effort he was at the top. Closest guy to him is Ehrhoff. I wanted to keep him and wait until he could maybe get a better partner that fit him but I guess that fool Darcy decided he wasn't good enough.

Good luck to Andrej in the future with Carolina and the teams that may follow.

I always thought that the Corsi stats are pretty good, but I'm shocked that Myers looks very good in a couple of those statistics. In reality he was awful for a pretty big stretch of the season.

The post is actually from last May, so it covers the 2011-2012 season.

You would think a team would want to keep an 'elite' 27 year old shutdown d-man instead of moving him essentially for a 2nd rounder and a warm body.

PS Sekera was never our best d-man and Ehrhoff was better in 11-12.

I'll miss him. He was my favorite defenseman. I watched him as a youngster in Rochester. It was awesome watching him hit his stride in 2011-2012.

Impressive read. I take back my arguments on Ehrhoff being 1 and Sekera being 2 in 11-12.

Who said he's elite? We didn't have an elite defenseman on the team...

I kind of felt like Dr. Drej was our best D-man - maybe even better than Ehrhoff. I'm pissed about the trade. I can't understand why anyone is applauding this move.
