I understand this and I've said in previous threads that I don't think he'll be moved either. Dallas would be stupid not to sign him. He is their #1 center right now and he's a good young piece with quite a ceiling.

However, I just wanted a ballpark as a hypothetical. For discussion's sake, really.

I mean come on, this feels like the longest week of my life, man.

Change Kreider to JT Miller and I'd do it.

Losing Kreider kills the depth on the wings that we've got and with the way Miller has played this season in Connecticut and at the WJC, his stock definitely has to be rising.

Would something like Orlov, Galiev and a 1st interest you?

Orlov isn't much below Gardiner's level and has better all around game.

How much would Wilson cost on top of it?

Kulikov for O'Reilly would be perfect for both teams though. Makes too much sense not to happen.

You see you don't ask them. You just walk in like a total boss like this

And say *JOKER VOICE*

"Who wants to see a magic trick? I'm gonna make this RFA disappear."

*"What do you propose?"*

"It's simple: we trade the Stepan"

I love that scene

Was hoping Miller would take his spot on 3rd line LW, but I wouldn't mind doing that the other way around. I think Kreider's upside is what pushes the offer over though. He's got a very wide range in terms of potential. If this were NHL 13 he'd have the red stars. But his max upside is sick. Benn is a big fish, and I don't know if we'd get away with Miller.

There are like 500 Oil fans to 1 Dallas fan. And out of those 500, 50 post bad trades.

I have seen a few homer posts from Dallas fans, but nothing even close to EDM or TOR.

And at this point Benn will not be traded unless he asks for it. He is worth too much to Dallas.

I don't know much about Galiev but Orlov and a first is certainly interesting. Still, I would hope the Avs got more proven and NHL ready talent as losing RoR would be a blow felt for quite a few years. With RoR we have superb center depth, without we are ankle deep.

Just a stab at what I'd want from Washington for Benn (if they were interested):

Johansson
Orlov
1st
+

Oh, and for Kulikov for O'Reilly, Kulikov has a lot more value and is the superior player. Florida also has Weiss down the middle and Huberdeau and Bjugstad coming up, both who look like studs. Don't see Florida doing that.

Canucks fill a 2nd line center hole who can take over the 3rd line when Kesler gets back and also get a local boy offensive D prospect who is ready to step into the lineup.

Avs get a big seasoned offensive Defenseman in his prime to play with EJ on the 1st pairing.

Edler has 1 year left on his contract (but colorado would have plenty of cash to throw at him in the offseason)
O'Reilly is a current RFA.

Maybe picks can be sent one way or the other to even things up.
Huh.. I wouldn't say no to this from a Vancouver point of view...

I'm not overly disgusted or laughing.. well done

Doubtful many of the RFA's move except OReilly. Subban? Forget it, MTL is dangerously thin on D.

Benn would draw a hell of a package. Large, young, upward trending, RFA, etc. But without Benn, their second line center is Vernon Fiddler? The team is so much better with Benn, I'm sure they'll sort it out.

O'Reilly might get dealt with Colorado having Stastny and Duchene. One of the problems with him getting signed could be that they can lowball and outwait him. Colorado can manage without him and might even take picks if a large contract comes their way. Probably open to trades for quality D.

Kulikov might stay, might go. Someone who cares about FLA hockey should fill us in.

If Avs can't sign O'Reilly, we trade him for Kulikov. If Panthers can't sign Kulikov, they trade him for O'Reilly.

There's 50% of the proposals right there!

Can you imagine how annoying it would be to play the bruins?
Marchand/Subban tag team to piss you off then to hide behind Lucic,Horton,Chara,Thornton,Mcquaid,Cambell[/QUOTE]

I don't think with concussion issues Hortons gonna be dropping the gloves a lot. Thornton gets slower every year and was your worst plus/minus last year so he may be done sooner than you think. Prust, White, Moen and company will be helping to even things out in that area.

Can't really think of a deal MTL would take for Subban from Edmonton...
It appears you also can't think of a proposal that Dallas, Florida or Colorado would take either

ROR

To Colorado:

Gardiner + Ashton / Biggs / Colborne + 3rd

Some Leaf fans might find that a bit steep, but really if we have ROR and Grabo we don't need Colborne, and we have enough wings not to worry about Ashton or Biggs

Terrible plan.

Benn is good, but will (very likely) never be a Hart winner, Selke winner, etc. Look at all SC winners since the last lockout. Every single one of them has had at least two players who were either nominees or winners of a major award. Why trade our 1st in a very good draft for a player who IS good, but not good enough to be a core piece on a SC contending team.

How comfortable would you feel with Benn as your guy to go toe to toe against Crosby? Toews? Quick? Chara? Datsyuk? etc? Because that's the calibre of player you need to win. Benn, Kessel? They are not that calibre of player.

Can't we PLEASE go two years in a row without trading a 1st round pick or top prospect? Toronto and it's fans ALWAYS look for quick fixes. Newsflash, it hasn't worked for a reason.

Now I'm not saying our 1st round pick WILL be a future major award winner, but at least it has a chance at that, considering how good the draft is and how poor our team is. It should ONLY be moved in a deal for a player with the potential to be or who already is of the calibre mentioned above, but players like that simply wouldn't be available unless for a massive overpayment.

Would do. I think ROR is a stud. People forget he's younger than Gardiner. Though ideally it would be Colborne we'd send, not Ashton or Biggs.

Dallas would need Kuznetsov coming back, and a guarentee from Kuznetsov himself that he will join the Stars. I wouldn't do the trade without him. Kuznetsov + Orlov + Johansson + 2013 1st, maybe more.

Fire Sherman if this happens.
If Subban's worth Setoguchi, 1st and Dumba in the other thread, Kulikov is probably more valuable than a 2nd pick, I like to think.
